Cant believe how long it is since I last updated.Time flies and all that.
Have not taken my eye off the ball at all regarding the whole debt busting palaver. In fact last month I got a £5 reward from the bank for staying in credit all month:D which was immediately wiped out with a £6 charge for OD the previous month Will not be having a reward this month though
Today I was wondering if I had lost my mojo regarding it all............. but on reflection, no I haven’t. Its more that it has now become such a habit I hardly notice: I have bought virtually nothing since January that wasn't food fuel cleaning products toiletries. I have continued to overpay CCs and made a 'payment a day' however small. I have used vouchers for money off diesel and groceries. I have meal planned and become an ace with using up leftovers and gnarly stuff in the fridge in an imaginative way. I have even tried to foster a relationship with discount food stores..........and despite failing to find the love, I have by and large remained within my strict £70 a week food/household items shopping budget. I can buy a few things in Ald! And L!dl but I find the quality of much of the stuff I want to be inferior or laden with air miles/sugar/fat/unmentionables so I shop sensibly elsewhere.
In the past I have had feelings that the journey will never end and burdened by the enormity of it all but at the moment all is calm. Not sure why. Acceptance? At last seeing a difference however small? Not being weighed down with ‘stuff’ as the de clutter plods on – I’ve given myself to end of August to have the majority of it done – whatever it is, I quite like the feeling and hoping it’s not temporary. It could be that we are almost mortgage free and decided to go ahead with the house project a few years earlier than planned….who knows!!
I forget how fortunate we are to live where we do and every so often have to remind myself. This week I have had a few trips after work to a favourite spot to clear the mind and catch up on a book I needed to finish for my book group. So I pulled on the walking shoes stuffed the paperback in a pocket and walked up the mountain to breath in a favourite view and lean against a sun warmed rock and polish off a couple of chapters until the evening sun dipped behind the ridge. Fortunate indeedCant remember the last time I did this. Certainly my general fitness has dropped off  Not quite the mountain goat skipping past the city walkers! Really must address the fitness!
Maybe its just clearing the mind of work stuff at the end of the day that has helped…….long may it last. Whilst we are nowhere near free of our CC debts, I feel a little bit more in control of the financials and a little bit more appreciative of what I have around me.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Spent the day soaking up the sunshine in the garden - couple of niggly jobs done - overdue planting of some foxgloves I got weeks ago. Its a good job I only choose plants that will take a bit of neglect! I have cut back the intimidating Aqualiega down each side of the garden path so at least the postman wont get his legs wet - he wears shorts all year round so maybe he doesnt mind:D anyway all chopped back along with all the self sown primroses - looks a bit bare but it will all leaf up in a week or so.
So no money spent today - I dont think about NSDs these days as it so easy to do and feels quite natural. Cant think of anything I will be spending on until next weekend and I have £20 left from grocery/household item budget.
Going to get ahead with meals for next week - I have a busy one ahead starting with a meeting Monday evening which follows what I think will be a tough day at work as we are taking in a boomerang mad frog...........its never happened before. The forever new pond placement hasn't worked outNot entirely the frogs fault from what I hear. Sad for us and for frog. We will feel we have failed and frog will feel just rubbish.......when in fact neither is true:mad:
Anyway made all my daily payments. Potted up all my loose change. Quiet night with DD2 and a bowl of pasta and early bed............wide awake last night for no real reason:(
Oh just remembered.'Tis the season of report writing. No doubt the Idiot in Charge will want them done yesterday......going to get ahead with that too:pBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I have just reached the pay out limit on an on line survey - £20 and am more than half way to the 5000 points on Yu Guv ( £50) learnt a lesson with YG - do all the surveys as they drop in otherwise its takes FOREVER to get to £50:D
Food shop done and in under budget despite extras not on list such as some YS stuff for freezer and some half price screen wash. Apparently I saved 1p on my shop :rotfl: I have not been very good at paying off the voucher value of any I use, onto The Debt........it was a a very good way of just chipping away at it along with the PADs, which I do doSo note to self: DONT FORGET THE VOUCHERS/EXTRA INCOME FROM SURVEYS ETC. Otherwise it just disappears into the bank account and get 'used up'!
Contents of office/study is in LR at moment - having a good old clear out kondo style;)..............coffee and a biscuit first thoughBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Hi Ig,
I am doing the same with YG - when the £50 hits the bank account it's wonderful so I now try to do all surveys within 48hrs of receiving the invite. I also do the oracle surveys as I have been a winner so definitely worth it.
Hope the clear out went well.0 -

No all OK Just getting to part of the year when we all feel a bit jaded. Work is a case of people jockeying for position and I am not sure how I feel about it all! Usual routines at home disrupted as OH has meetings away and DD2 has a number of events which means I am not in my usual working week mode........sun is shining though and all my fr88gle pick ups have called so thats more unwanted stuff up the garden path and down the lane:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
