    Fun, fun, fun.

Just hope you get a house purchased prior to September, hate to think about what your posts would be like if you were still there surrounded by new students!
now that just made me spit out my tea.... i have a feeling Taiko may not be best suited to the role of student warden (although granted, a better pick than me!).

I don't think they'll allow me to rent out from there soon as the kids return. Currently, there's a load of overseas students in, whom I converse with in French.

They look blankly at me though, so I think they might not be French. Oh well.
  • I'm going to be up at about 5 tomorrow morning, to go to work on the confirmation helpline for my uni - I hope I'll be delivering lots of good news! Good luck to everyone getting their results. :)

Either that or they have been told not to speak to strange men!!
  • Another nervous parent here. OCR messed up my son's Maths paper, 9 marks completley unanswerable. The grade boundaries are low, but when you consider the percentage of paper that was unanswerable!

Well I feel like a horrible parent now! I am on holiday in Devon and daughter has promised to text me her results sometime after 11am.

    Well it is raining here!

Was that D1? I saw the 80 UMS boundary was incredibly low (44/72), especially as Decision maths is usually considered one of the easier options. The Edexcel D1 A boundary is lower than usual too, but no mistakes in that one! OCR haven't lowered grade boundaries in their other "mistake" papers; interesting to see they did it for D1 - the error must have affected a lot of students.

Yes D1. It was a big question total 9/72! The press made a much bigger thing out of the Biology where it was a multiple choice, so probably 1 mark. I think it had to do with the number of students taking D1, it not being very popular and often an AS option.

My son tells me OCR D1 is generally harder than Edexcel and the A boundary was 50 in Jan but the error did affect the marks of most students which is why the summer A boundary is so low. So at least there is a level playing field for those students. He has been reading up on the aftermath of the errors as he was badly affected in another paper and has also been studying the grade boundaries.
  • Another nervous parent here. DD is going to school at 7.30 a.m. to collect results.
