    Good Morning

I went to bed late last night and thought I could sleep in, but I had a nightmare (@ 42  ) so I decided to get myself up and visit OS to calm myself down. I dislike having to work as it always makes me edgy, but the silly thing is is that when I'm at work I am calm and capable (ish);)

I too need to take down the christmas decorations but I think I will leave the dining table decorations out until spring as they are more seasonal in appearance than Christmassy.

Today I am hoping to visit the organic farm shop for some veg, I find that I spend less overall by visiting the farm shop than by visiting the supermarket, plus I like shopping at places where there are still brown paper bags and there is mud on the veg!

Then I need to look up some recipies, I went through my pantry over christmas and I have 10 large cans of chick peas, and 8 cans of other types of beans eg. kidney, butter etc. There's only the two of us :rotfl: I do have lentils too, so I think I will make a daal with some of it.

I haven't knitted for years, I last made a jumper for one of my old boyfriends, and I still remember the satisfaction of completing it and my relief that it looked passable. My Mum used to knit our dishcloths, and I remember as a child my Mum undoing old knitted woollen garments and me sitting with my arms outstretched so that DM could wind the wool into new skeins. Such wonderful memories...Mum still knits, she's always been what we term OS, never idle, always baking, knitting, patching clothes, I guess growing up in the war years had something to do with it....what went wrong with me :D Well, I've refocussed now and am looking forward to it, it's so nice not having the distraction of all the TV channels.

Ooops, I've rambled on, have a good Saturday everyone, and I best go and have some breakfast and wake up DH.

  • Morning everyone!

Just surfacing now as I have some online banking to do and need to get to the sorting office before 10am to collect a couple of parcels. One of them has been there since before Christmas ( - oooops!) and the other hopefully won't be my dad's birthday present which Lakeland were meant to deliver directly to him, as per my instructions! I then have some admin to do for a village Committee and I am looking after a friend's child this evening.

I LOVE knitting. I love knitting with good quality wool though (not cheap stuff) so can't afford to knit as much as I like so normally stick to baby gifts.

Still queasy, retching and occassionally being sick. I hate morning sickness - when, oh when, will I feel better?

I hope you all have a lovely Saturday!

    Valentine xxx

Morning All - hope we are well

I too have forgotten the binmen DLB, I reminded OH to put it out, but he was so busy with looking for cars on ebay - evidently he forgot.

Couldn't sleep, due to OH, snoring, kicking me, & fidgeting. Everyone still in bed, but me. At least that security light wasn't on again last night.

I emptied my wardrobe last night, I have a bin full of tops & trousers to list on ebay. Aswell as 2 beige suits.

WM & TD allready on. Got to get kids stuff ready as its their weekend with their dad.

Try to fit shopping in also sometime this wk end.

Not a lot else planned really.
Have a great wk end everyone
Take care & love as usual xxx

Morning :hello: - sorry to hear some of you haven't slept well.

Am waiting for a Freecycler to come and collect my old hoover. She said she'd come between 8:00 and 9:30 but I hope she didn't come between 7:55 and 8:05 as I was in the shower and wouldn't have heard the doorbell...

Throat is much better this morning so I think I will chance the first rehearsal for tomorrow's choir concert and see how it goes :)

Also need to tidy and clean the kitchen, as the floor is strewn with bags of bottles and paper to go to the recycling bank, one worksurface is out of action as it has a pile of instruction manuals and other junk on it, and hob really needs a good clean as I've had a lot of fried stuff (and boiled-over stuff :o) this last couple of weeks.

And now that the Christmas tree is down I can put up some more shelves. The flat is looking a bit bare at the moment - messy though :o

    See you later
    Rzl xx

    Morning All.

    Happy birthday miss Jockettuk 301.gif.

Just about to scramble some eggs for breakfast.

Washing all sorted into piles - ready to go.

Not really got much planned for today - play with kids and do some light housework. Need to go to supermarket over the weekend. I'll try and sneak off by myself - having the whole brood with me makes it really hard to concentrate and makes things take twice as long.

I'm a hardened knitter I'm afraid, started when I was 7 and have never stopped!

Spag bol from freezer for dinner. Pasties from freezer for lunch, I made them in November so i hope they're OK (our freezer isn't the best, I just cannot freeze raw chicken in it, it always comes out green and smelly. Yet cooked is generally OK!?).

    take care

    Good morning everyone,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS JOCKETTUK - i remember her birthday last year, as i had only just started posting on the daily thread - the time really has flown by!!!!

Had a lie in today until 9, although i always wake up a few times in the night, but i do feel better for the later morning.
Planning to go through the wadrobes today and get rid of anything ive not worn for 12 months - im going to really struggle with this, i still have suits i used to wear to work, and ive not worked full time for over 10 years!!! I always think, what if i go back, and i also have some lovely dresses that i paid a lot for (well, was a lot back then) which i keep, just in case i go anywhere nice. Seeing i dont go out at all, i dont know why i do keep them, but i am a horder, and i know if i get rid of any of it, next week i will need something!!!!
All this talk of knitting reminds me of when i knitted a jumper when i was younger - honestly i followed the instructiuons to the letter, however a jumper for someone around a size 10, wouldve fitted 3 of us in it!!!! Havnt tried again after that disaster!!! Mind you, i did wear it, shows how silly you can be when you are young!!!!
Right, going to have some breakie (doing well on my diet at the mo, 2 breakfasts a day and then a healthy main meal seems to be working for me, snacking on fruit!!!) and start on the wardrobes - wish me luck, i keep saying i will get rid of it, but who knows!!!

Have a lovely day everyone (and neave, we are also cheering on Plymouth today!!!)
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • morning all!

    Feeling ok today so far!

Must go out in a bit. Need some sewing needles & thread. Also I need some black wool (have wool sewing needles) to sew up DH's jumper. Trouble is I only need a little bit of wool but I guess I will have to buy a ball. I don't even knit. But I do want to learn. If the shop has that 99p mag I may buy the 1st issue.

I have a huge list of chores that need doing between now & when I go back to work on Tues.

Kids r in the bath together. They are 7 (girl) & 4 (boy). Atm they are happy yo bath together but I am not sure when I should stop them bathing together iyswim.

My cleaning cupboard under my sink has so much space now cos I don't buy a million cleaning products, just stardrops! :D

Also my pantry & freezer are looking good now, more spance but more stuff cos I am cooking so much more from scratch & buying a lot less ready stuff. DH still insists on buying flavoured rice. But I refuse so he gets them if he goes to the shop.

Oh well off to get the kids from the bath. I need the loo ;)

    Have a good day all

    love Lisa x

    LOL Math

    Morning all.

My new food processor arrived last night. I was not very amused as the delivery guy just dumped it on the doorstep, knocked at the door then left! He didn't even know we were in and we're right on the road, everybody walks past our house. It looks good though and I just have to find room in my kitchen for it.

I did succumb to buying the self sufficiency book last night but only bought one other book about pregnancy for my eldest DD (costing £1) to get the free postage and it also entitled me to a free Dora annual so I didn't do badly there.

Just off to get new school shoes for DD2 as she has pulled the soles away from the uppers. I was just going to try and glue them back on but Mum has given me the money to buy new ones as she spotted some in a shop on Thursday but didn't get them because she didn't think DD needed any.

Just off for a quick whizz around MSE and then tidy up the living room which DD is currently destroying.

    Have a good day all.

    Happy Birthday Miss Jockett :)
