i did a lot of knitting when the family were younger but i find it difficult to be relaxed enough to do it sitting on my own, i miss the open fire, it seemed to bring life to the room but i must make the effort to start again as my second cousin is due to give birth any day
that was lovely of you N9eav to go and see your sister cause she was a bit down, glad you had such a nice day, its so easy in this busy world to overlook visiting people

:coffee: MOrning everyone, hope you are all well and happy. Got hubby home at 12 last night away all week, and I missed him, he works so hard, and no pay rise this year and he has been working all hours, harder than any other year, seems unfair to me. He has to go away on sunday again so today is his only day off!
    Grumble over.
Things to do about the house, new lights to put up etc, but guessing Dh may want to take it a little easy and not be slaved!
Out for supper tonight, which will be nice, hope to take the dogs for a nice long walk.
I wore mascara for the first time in ages yesterday and now my eye hurts!
Made a batch lot of ragu yesterday so need to freeze that down in to portions.
Off to have a cup of tea :coffee:

:hello: have a good day everyone!

  • Morning everyone

Had a late night (for me anyway) last night but still woke up at 6.30. No point in lying in bed so here I am.

I managed to have a good clearout yesterday and I have now reclaimed about 3/4 of my bedroom. XDH says he will put Christmas tree and decs in the loft for me (I'm a scaredy-cat when it comes to climbing ladders. :o ) so that will make even more room.

Today's plan is to sort out all the pressies I have bought this year, make a list of who I have bought presents for and who I still need to buy for, then wrap the ones I do have IYSWIM.

Then I will try the recipe I found online for Turnip and Sweet Potato soup. Not sure that I will like it but it seemed such an unusual combo that I have to give it a go.

Amie I have a large molar that grew out of the side of my gum and nestles under my tongue now. I don't notice it any more and as it is in perfect condition, the dentist refused to do anything about it. I also have a tooth that floats around in the roof of my mouth. Occasionally it tries to break through but it never comes to anything (thankfully - as I was told I would need an operation to remove it - by cutting into the roof of my mouth. Ouch!). Just realised how horrible my teeth sound. :o I do keep them clean and visit the dentist regularly. Honest!

Have a great Saturday everyone. X

    Good Morning earlybirds!

A little tired because I went to a girlfriends for kitchen supper and girlie gossip last night and before we realised, it was midnight! So a good evening had there.

DH and the children are driving back from France today, so expect to see them sometime this evening, although we have no real idea when.

Someone we know was clearing their freezer and had a huge bag of mince that they were going to throw out, simply because they were restocking!

So yesterday the slow cooker was on for 13 portions of chili, then on again over night for a similar quantity of bolognese sauce, I have one batch of something to make today - maybe a big shepherds pie for when the family return? All for free (well, onions, peppers etc aside)!!!!

I hope everyone has a good day. I told my cleaner yesterday that she was no longer needed, so I had better get over to the flylady thread, pronto!!!

    MOrnin all

Well i woke up to early, after another bad dream ( stress I think gives me these - ---- no its NOT chocolate- so dont suggest it! :naughty:)

todays efforts will be we are popping to the M&S outlet this morning to see if we can get a few bits and we might need to go to the next one as well . realised we are having folk over for a roast tomorrow and we dont have enough plates! so hopefully getting some cheapy ones out adn about.

Later on, we are going into town to wathca film and get some food, after lengthy discussions we decided to go for cheap food instead of nice resturaunt as we are usually disappointed by mid range restarunts as OH I cook better :A so we might as well save our money :money: Im hoping for nandos, especially as we are about 2 meals away from a whole chicken for free on our loyalty card :D

Have a good day all :D

    Morning everyone!!

Hope we are all well, well our meal out last night was lovely, i have only ever been for a indian once before last night so wasnt really looking forward to the food, but i really enjoyed it.
It was the first time we had been out with this group of friends ( they are parents and the manager or ds1 footy team) and we had a great laugh.
And as you all know i was worrying if i had enough money, due to a small oversight on my part on bank ballance!! But the whole evening include drinks only came to £27.
We will definatly be doing that again in a few months time.

Well todays plans are enjoy my last saturday with no footy, ds3 leauge doesnt start agin until next week, but tommorow is the start of ds1 leauge, a away match!! Oh i love winter football!!!!!Roll on summer training lol.

So i plan to list some more things on ebay, dh has promised to have a clear out of some of his stuff as he desperatly wants a psp, so i told him he will have to sell something to pay for it, as i am determind not to go over the budget this year. But he collects lots of war memerabila and star wars items, and is going to see if there is anything he would let go!!

Need to use up the rest of the food in the house ready for stocking up on monday, need to meal plan for next week.

And other than that not alot, apart from a game of Uno, the kids love this and i was so surprised as dd aged 4 got the hang of it straight away, so at last iv found a game that all the kid and us can play without having to help any of them or play in teams.
Edited to say had to make new sig, came a cropper yesterday!Im so mad with myself.!!

    Have a great day all
    Donna
