    Afternoon all

Just a quick post to wish Donny a very Happy Birthday:bdaycake:(I love the Ryther Arms!)

Lou hope you are ok and feel better for going to spend time with your Nan

Been a busy day at work today and was up most of last night with an upset stomach, so absolutely tired out this afternoon. Washing blowing nicely in the sunshine though, so will have to iron at some point but think it may be tomorrow :o

Hope everyone has a good evening

    Hi all,

I've been lurking again and fancied just saying hi to everyone.
I hope everyone is doing as well as they can in their respective situations. :)

Back lurking around the OS forum again to help give me some more ideas for money saving as I need to get everything cleared and in some sort of sensible state. Just need some discipline and a bit of inspiration from here.

I've decided to do some car boots as I have a shed load of unused stuff, I might even make some cushion covers with the tonne of material I've picked up over the years and have nowhere to store. Anyone got any words of wisdom on the topic? I'd be grateful for opinions/ideas/experiences.

And all this is in aid of me aiming to be part of the September 2012 intake of trainee paramedics. I hated being a skint student but it's getting to the point where it's unavoidable. I miss the NHS, I want to be a fully trained paramedic and I have to go to university to do it. So, to aid that I need to lose weight to get on the course (there's a fitness test ), save up and get better prepared for life as a skint student with very little time.
Again, peoples with opinions/tips/stories, please please share them with me.

Anyhoos, tonight I am going to start on making jam jar covers for the Christmas hampers, some batch cooking for the week ahead and steeling myself to reassess my finances (I'm doing okay - I can now make it to the end of the month, just) to streamline everything and be better :D All so exciting.

I hope everyone has a nice rest of day, I forsee an unproductive half hour at work now for me, and speak to youse all soon.

    LOU thinking of you
ADELIGHT glad to hear about your OH

    Welcome new peeps.

    DONNYGAL Happy Birthday

I've finished my garden benches and I'm so pleased with them, one of them the metal was quite rusted and I found some blue and silver hammerite in the shed. Looks lovely and didn't cost me a thing :D.

Have a houseful of boys playing on the Wii, they all had a waterfight earlier. Off to make DS tuna pasta for tea.

    Have a good night all

    camelot1001, good luck to ds1's oh :)
Maitane, HM healthy food(and batch cooking which you already do anyway) will be cheaper and walking rather than driving/getting the bus will also be cheaper and help you get fit. It might see like walking 3 miles to the supermarket is too much but it's not, all you need is a back pack and something on your feet! There are loads of carboot experts on here who will have advice.

Home with OH and all is well, he's having a nap then wants to go to the shops to get some dinner. I've cancelled my holiday at work so I can use it another time when he's better :)

    Evening All

Thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes, both on here and FB. I have had a great birthday "weekend" and lovely day today to finish off. I can certainly recommend Yorkshire Wildlife Park, it was good, and quite busy for a Monday. Using the 10 group it was not too bad to get in, but the normal adult rate is £12.50, which would have come steep.:eek:
I will try and put some photos on FB later, after we have taken DS & GF back to catch the 7.45pm train back to London KX. I am certainly weary now, you know the one spelt with a "K".

I have a table full of bottles and smellies as presents, I am not sure if I am seen as a smelly drunk or what :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::beer:

The surprise pressie from DH+DS&GF was 4 tickets to see The Nutcracker, by the English National Ballet at the London Coliseum (think I have spelt it correct this time:o) on the weekend before Xmas, as our Xmas Day with them as it is GF's Mum's turn this year. This is totally DS&GF's doing as DH wouldn't have thought of it himself, but he will have provided some of the funds :D:D

    (((hugs))) Lou

    Welcome Maitane

Wonder why I didn't get a virtual card from my virtual daughter :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Take care all - (((hugs))), Hi-5's, Spoons, Vibes as needed/wanted. DG

That's cause they're all strange up there. It's the lack of sun or summat :p <runs off to hide from the Scots>

Camelot hope things are going well, just remember to tell her to push ;)

Had a lovely day at the fun day, kids had a whale of a time on the bouncy castle, eating an ice-cream and watching a puppet show. Weather was lovely too.

Mum, dad, brother and SIL called by with niece and nephew and we ended up having pizza and a good natter. My brother told me the other night during the riots police was shot at 7 times, 4 of which were embedded in a riot van containing officers. Bl00dy stab vest not much help against a bullet eh :( they haven't made this knowledge public as they don't want people thinking we have a gun problem here <rolls eyes> anyway mini rant over

    Sweet dreams everyone :)

Bitsy - thats terrible about the gun shots!

I am tired now, waiting for OH to come home so i can make dinner (last time i do something pastry based fir the two of us to share!) I would have already eaten if i'd thought about it. Nevermind, tomorrow i shall have an early dinner. I've par boiled the potatoes in anticipation of his 1hr away from home phone call.

Lunches are made - i actually made 2 salads so i didn't need to make myself another one tomorrow, and a fruit salad for breakfast, OH's is sorted too.

I plan on bed shortly after dinner is eaten, I'll rise early to walk the pup and wash the dishes.
