Just back from a quick cuppa with Mooloo. She has lots of orders to fulfil so I left her busily sewing away. It is so good to see her so positive about her sewing. My DD is looking after her DGD today and they were off to the park as i was leaving. Takes my DD's mind off her looming exam results but she has been a bit more positive as we have a plan for every eventuality and she has been offered more work if her uni place is not to be.
Adelight - Im so pleased that OH is on the mend. I would dearly love to go and see the Nutcracker but access is a problem as i cant walk too far. I have suggested it to Kids Dad so we will see.
Right onwards and upwards xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Lou: my heart goes out to you. Hope you have a lovely peaceful time with your Nan and don't worry about any tears, they can be healing.
Julie: when do we stop worrying about our children? You'll all get through it, you sound strong, but adjusting to a new situation can be very draining. Get whatever support you can.
Camelot: Whoo-hoo! Keep us posted.
It's a lovely morning here on the Island, JackieO should be happy. I feel like walking around with a sandwich board, "ARE YOU JACKIEO?"
After waiting long after every one else here for my runner beans to get going, they have gone berserk. We could eat them for every meal but my suggestion of runner bean sandwiches was not well received. Ah well! On with the picking.I believe that friends are quiet angels

It's DGS's 5th birthday tomorrow, i can't believe he's that age, he's already been at school a year! We have some Lego cars for him, and have given his Mum a gift voucher for some new school shoes when he needs them.
Been trying to get on with my OU work, as i'm a bit behind; having been worrying about going into hospital, and then getting sent home again with no operation done, means my concentration isn't at its best, but will persevere. Onwards and upwards, as JackieO always says.
Wm is nearly finished but not sure about hanging the washing out, it looks as if it's going to rain. No it doesn't. the sun's come back out. just can't make up its mind today!
Sorry, brain just isn't working today, hopefully I'll be more coherent next time:p
best wishes, ivyleaf xx0 -

Good afternoon All.
Lou, I hope the cemetary was peaceful and that you got a chance to spend time alone at your Nan's graveside and to share your thoughts with her.
Adelight, fingers crossed re infection. Glad there are no further signs of cancer.
Julie, sorry to hear about your DD. When her heart heals, she'll know she did the right thing.
I had a busy and productive weekend: caught up with some friends on Friday afternoon and Sunday, knitted my way thought two Prom concerts on Friday and Saturday (we sit in the gods where the musicians can't see me and I use wooden needles so no "tap tap"), did four loads of laundry, a bit of gardening, and some baking. Biggest expense is a tie: £5 for parking behind the Royal Albert Hall on Friday (got there too early to park for free) and the £5 I spent on the Tube yesterday going into town and back to have lunch at my friend's.
Best OS moment: I scored a dozen or so scotch bonnet chillis in Tesco for £1.05 yesterday. Put them through my mini-chopper last night and into an ice-cube tray in the freezer. Saved the seeds from the ripest, so that I can grow them next year.
Today is work. (Bleh.) Tonight, I'm off to Costco on my way home to stock up on cans of chopped tomatoes and a kilo of coffee beans."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Afternoon all
So far I have hung washing on the line, scrubbed half the kitchen cupboard doors & cooked a huge batch of mince with onions, carrots, lentils, oats & a grated courgette, it's just simmering gently, while I peel the potatoes to go on top. Once the cottage pies are made up I shall scrub the other half of the kitchen cupboard doors & by then it should be time to collect hubby from the station.
Hugs Hester

thanks for advice re hens.....That is what I plan to do, keep putting them in coop when I go out at the mo until they settle and the cats around here get used to them, then I might feel confident to leave them in run:D

I will increase the amount in winter.
Adelight glad it was good news re OH. I thought he must have an infection and that he was having a rigor the other night rather than actually being cold:D
Just had to nip to Co op for milk with DS......difficult as he hates supermarkets and was making chicken noises and pecking peoples bums:eek::o
On the plus side I got 2 huge packs of mince for £1 which is currently in the oven as bolognese sauce which I will portion up and freeze.
Got to dash.....appointment to watch Escape to the Country with DS at 2.15;):p0 -
DS1 phoned about an hour ago to say that Fiance is now on the ward and in quite a bit of pain (was going to tell him that it happens during childbirth but decided against it!). She was given a painkiller but couldn't keep it down so she has been given a jag now.
Will keep you up-dated!! Take care. XX0 -
