Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 15th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed & breakfast eaten.
I made a huge batch of chicken, ham & mushroom pie filling yesterday, today I shall make some cottage pies. I'll see how many I can make from the kilo of mince I bought. I have plenty of potatoes to top them with, 16lbs from the garden & plenty of onions too.
I shall go out later to see if there are any blackberries around & combine that with a walk along the river bank.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning x
Busy day today with visit to GP, cuppa with Mooloo, dog to the vets and usual stuff to be sorted.
Must get moving and will catch up later.
Hope you all have a good day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Morning Hester, Molly and all who follow.
Was greated by a very happy puppy on my return last night (OH is now not talking to the 'traitor' as he is ignoring OH now i'm home)
OH is off to work, I've stayed at home to sorted the house out - have been awake since 6, but didn't get up.
My gran bought me one of those lovely jar piggy banks that you have to break to open, (i did have one for coppers but we have to open it when times were tough at the start of the year) so am going to try and put £2 away in that each day. For the wedding, as I want to get the ball rolling on that one soon.
So plan for the day is to gut the house room by room (minus BIL's) thats only 4 rooms with the bathroom not having anything in it, so just need to deep clean that. I will start with the bedroom and work my way to the kitchen. Also need to walk the pup at some point, will go to the river and maybe pick some blackberries too.
Also need to chase OH's uncle for payment as he's had the most recent invoice for a week and not paid. Am going direct to the accounts team and cutting out his uncle though, as he loves to throw around excuses.
Looks like it's going to be sunny today so will try and clear the wash basket. and as we need bits for lunches I will take my new bag and purse for their first outing this evening when OH returns, We've got a 24 hour tesco locally so can go there if it's really late.

Morning all
Lovely start to the day here although it's chilly. My sleep pattern is up the spout again and I've been awake for ages. Still in bed though and my old cat is with me happily purring and treadling.
Welcome new peeps:wave:.
BRAMBLE hope the house isn't too much of a tip, welcome back.
NPM lovely chickens, am jealous but don't think I can have them here as I have foxes in my garden.
Plan today to crack on in the garden. Have the metal work on noe of my benches to finish. Found some left over hammerite in my utility room. Will also carry on pruning and go to the tip. I need to find a present for my Dad, have no idea what to get him. I have the big dog here as well so will take him out in a mo.
Am going out to my local Thai resturant tonight for a leaving do for my friend (her OH lost his job at Pfizer). It's very cheap and cheerful. Will see what Ds fancies for tea. Need to do a menu plan to last me til payday.
Have a good day all and hugs to all who need one.

Morning everyone
Dry, bright and sunny here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Boys up and had brekkie as they are being collected by dad shortly, they will be staying with them until Wednesday when I collect them once I have finished work.
Went away at the weekend, was really nice being away and not at a rally just us and some friends so pleased ourselves what we did and when we did it. We also cooked outside Sat evening and they joined us and we were able to eat outside too.
Also managed to get three loads of washing done and onto the line when we got back yesterday afternoon, got all three loads dry too, so will need get that ironed. Only have to work until Wednesday this week, then I'm on holiday until the 5 September, woop woop, really ready for the break. Am starting lists and collecting the kit together as I think about it so when we get to Friday evening I'm not running round like a headless chicken, well that's the plan anyway!! Will be taking some clothes and packing the caravan so we don't use all the boot space. Made my list whilst we were away at the weekend of supplies that are running low in the caravan, tea, coffe, sugar etc all the normal stuff. Dinner tonight will be egg, bacon, sausage, etc quickie meal after being at work all day, may be able to get the ironing done too.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning hester and everyone else
Nice and sunny here, bit cooler than last couple of days, though. Hope it stays like this as I've loads of washing to do.
Went to a friend's barbecue on Saturday; the littlies didn't get to bed until after 10 and woke close to 9 on Sunday! :j Had a lazy day yesterday, but DH did the lawns and we went to a local food festival and spent too much money!
Got dentist today, magazine stitching to do and downstairs to start blitzing.
Hope you all had a good weekend, see you later, hugs and kisses all round.

Happy Birthday DG _party_
Nice quiet weekend here, money saving was going really well until we agreed to take littlies to our local indoor play area to escape the rain :eek: cost almost £14 for the 4 of us to get in!!!! Won't be doing that again in a hurry!!
Got the outlaws coming for a few days on Weds so getting ready for that today, best clear the spare room bed off!!
Out tomorrow with my dad, he's taking the girlies and me to the seaside for the day :j which will be lovely. His treat, so even better:D
Must remember to go and buy some new pillows today too. Accidentally got rid of 4 when we movedso need to replace them else the outlaws will have bad necks!!
Have a lovely day all, see you later

DD1 returns today, her washing will smell nicer but there will be a lot more of it.:D
I am going to make a determined effort to catch up on tidying the house.
Tea tonight is fish with HM wedges and green beans.

Morning all,
Bright beautiful day here, got a big towel load in the wm, and another to go in, will get both on the line.
Dinner tonight is pork chops, I may do some jackets to go with them and dome veg, although dd does not like jackets, so may do mash.
Need to have a good tidy through this morning, although thats not as easy as it sounds, we have the new bathroom sitting in the conservatory, and although we have cleaned and hoovered after stripping the bathroom walls yesterday the mess seems to take over the house, still it will be worth it.
DD and I need to pop into town later to get birthday presents for sis and dad, I have absolutly no idea what to get my dad, he can't have sweets, is unable to read now, have enough smellies, loads of clothes etc, anyone have any ideas ??
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Donny, have a great day xxxx
OK better get on, have good days all xx0
