and keep on breathing, hope you're all enjoying your time together.
  • One more sleep and its all back to normal:T:T:T
Love them to bits but I need my house back................soon!
  • Hurrah - its just me and the dog! Peace at last!
Xmas was a bit of a damp squib really - my dad arrived with raging toothache on Xmas Eve and I had to find him an emergency dentist to do an extraction and he was then on antibiotics for the whole stay. Then my mum and sister developed streaming colds and spent the whole time feeling rubbish and sniffing and sneezing - so we've been cooped up indoors for the whole time apart from brief escapes to walk the dogs:(

Never mind at least I didn't spend too much - I've still got £50 in my purse in cash that I thought would be spent in pubs etc

The house looks like a bomb has hit it I look a bit shell shocked:eek:
The rest of the morning will be spent cleaning and putting things back to normal, washing bedding and towels and generally reclaiming my house!

I did get a nice birthday present from my parents though - £400 towards my living room redecoration fund:T:T Very generous and much appreciated.

I need to redo my budget until payday and work out what the leftovers can be turned into - I don't want to go food shopping until the weekend if I can help it - and then it will be only fresh stuff needed.

Right better get started - the sooner the house is tidy the sooner I can relax!
Hope everyone else had a good Xmas?
  • Merry Christmas! Better late than never I guess ;)

I heard that it takes a minimum of 21 days to build a new habit - so try tracking your new beauty routine for 3 weeks and if you can make it every day for that long, you should be sorted!
    Savings target: £25000/£25000

glad you've got your space back again. you've certainly had a lovely pressy from your parents that's really thoughtful of them. I like you need to get a beauty regime into place, if for no other reason than to actually use up the tonne of toiletries i have in boxes round this place.

    Evening all!

Lemon tree and Mildredalien - the "beautiful me" campaign is going quite well so far - sticking with the taking make up off, antiwrinkle cream and generally making a bit more of an effort. Don't really look any different but feel better.

Its lovely having a quiet house again - I did all of the housework and washing and then sat down to watch a film this afternoon and promptly fell asleep for 2 hours! Now that's what I call relaxing!

I did pop to Mr T's when I found out that the library was shut as I've run out of books to read - bought 2 for £7 - the new David Baldacci and another legal drama thing - my treat to myself after all of the hassle of Xmas.
I also picked up lots of reduced bread rolls and bagels that are now living in the jam packed freezer - enough for at least 2 weeks back at work all for the grand total of £1.20:T

Had some of the cheese mountain and biscuits and some grapes for tea - couldn't face cooking again and fancied some nibbly bits. Oh, and a bit of chocolate log:o

Need to have a look for something to do with half a ton of cooked new potatoes too - the visitors all wanted them and then didn't eat them:mad: - I suppose there's potato salad but there's only so much of that you can eat!

Need to take a dress back to M&S tomorrow - bought it in desperation for wearing over Xmas but I don't really like it and as it turned out I didn't need it anyway - £40 back in the bank at least. Will try really hard not to buy anything else.................

good luck with getting your refund in M& S it's going to be hellish for a while yet.

can you squidge your spuds in the freezer to save having to find a way of eating them up straight away?

Well I'm back from "shopping" which was really taking things back and going to the bank.
    M&S wasn't too bad - a 10 min wait to get a refund, £40 back in the account:j
I also popped into the bank and put my birthday cheque in - the living room fund is now up to £650 and hopefully will be £700 by the end of the pay month if I can afford to squirrel away a bit more.
I nipped into a carpet shop to price up carpets and it looks like it will cost between £350 -450 to buy it and get it fitted. Then I need to buy paint, curtains, cushions and matching accessories etc - oh and the small matter of paying the decorator:eek:
I think I'm looking at a minimum of £1000 - carry on saving! But at least it will all be paid for in cash and I'll have no debt from doing it.

I got my eyebrows waxed too - the lady has done a good job - they're not too thin and are a nice shape - all for £6.

Still working my way through the leftovers - think it will be quiche and refried new potatoes for tea. The end is in sight now though!

Well after a weigh in this morning the diet has started in earnest today!
I need to lose at least 10lbs, ideally a stone. I've decided to follow the SW principles again but not go to the class due to lack of time and not wanting to part with the cash. I've rejoined the SW thread and the Frump to fab thread and the defrumping is going quite well so far - even if it doesn't look like it I feel better already!

    Minor improvements so far include
    1. using new moisturiser day and night
    2. taking make up off every day
    3. got my eyebrows reshaped
    4. making more of an effort with my teeth (new brush, extra whitening toothpaste)
    5. sorted out my feet
    6. painted toenails
    7. done "hand" nails
    8. using handcream everyday
    9. done face scrubs
    10. used body sugar scrub
    11. more regular defuzzing
The next step (apart from getting thinner) is to revamp my make up - have decided that I'll visit a department store or Boots after payday and have a consultation to give me an idea of what's best for a 40 year old that thinks she's 30!:rotfl:

I'm going to try to not buy any new clothes (apart from essentials) until I've lost a bit of weight - the spring stuff should be in the shops then - I need a Gok Wan type to tell me what to wear though - I always seem to look the same.

Right its tea time - will return later with a list of things to acheive in 2012 - I do love a list!
