You are quite right to take over it all, I can only begin to imagine your sheer frustration at being the only one concerned about finances.

then he's still gone out tonight but promised me he wasn't going to stay long/ be late home...................... still no sign of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So very sorry to hear what he's done ... again. Thank goodness you stopped him from getting the wonga "loan" though - the interest rates can be fierce and firms like that take no prisoners in getting it repaid by hook or by crook.

I can't believe that he lied to you though and told you that it was 'only' £300 that he needed, when you actually have had to give him over £700 (in addition to the £300 he has already squandered). I can understand why you are incandescent.

Think you're very wise to be looking at taking his cards off him and just giving him a weekly cash allowance as he clearly can't be trusted to act in an adult fashion when you gave him the chance - and he certainly can't be trusted to have a months allowance in one go by the sounds of it.

I think you are also absolutely right to be worried about money as your children will be grateful in future years for your care and attention that ensured they were kept warm, clothed and well fed. Just because your husband doesn't give a stuff doesn't mean you shouldn't too - and you clearly do care!!

***rant alert***

I don't know why I bother with so called friends.

Made friends with someone when DS2 was born. we met up once a week or so. I rushed round to console her when her and her boyf split up etc.

when I went back to work we struggled to meet but still got the odd one or 2.

THEN she got a job and back with boyf and of course if you couldn't meet on her terms then stuff it (basically). she's since given up the job.

She winges that she never leaves the house but whenever I suggest meeting up has always got somewhere else to be (i sware her toddler has a birthday party to go to every weekend). Then she'll suggest meeting on a day she KNOWs I'm at work (I've worked the same 4 days for the last 3 years). or actually I think this week I had a half hour window lol.

anyway today she posts about going to a free event in town next saturday with her lil girl..... my boys woulda loved it. I've never seen it advertised so of course go to book and it tells me all sold out.
so she says she knew about it 5 weeks ago and got on the mailing list then.

Just said to her "oh well, if you spot anything fab like that again can you let me know". to be told "well it was on all the mum and baby websites figured you'd see it".

I'm just sooooo p'ed off. Everytime I spot a great offer (even if it's just 20% off at ELC) I post it on my facebook and tag anyone who might be interested.
If I know she is trying to sell something and notice someone with a wanted post for that item I let her know.

I got free tickets for disney at the cinema and ordered 4 and asked her if her and lil girl wanted to come with us (they did).

I would defo have shared something like that - i mean we could have actually met up and gone together if I'd known. Or I'd at least have ordered extra tickets and offered them.

I know it's a silly thing to get wound up over but am hacked off of being used by people.

She sounds like a taker tbh, sounds like you've done too much for her and she doesn't appreciate it. I wouldn't bother sending her anything again if someone was like that with me

I am SOOOOO done with her now.

Once again she's another status winging how no one ever wants to go on play dates etc.

anyways have told DS1 he can have a halloween party on the saturday before halloween during the afternoon. invited her but had no response.
asked today if they were coming "don't know, might be going to a conference it's on the saturday and sunday and not sure which day I'll go on yet".

Well tell you what - how about you don't bother.

i hit that "unlike" button on facebook and got rid of the leacher.

Another morning, another winge about how she needs something to do today.
suggested a trip to local museum with me and kids............she'd already been there twice this week.

My last comment was "how silly of me, of course you have, I give up".

New year (soon) I will not waste my time with leachers.

and I think after 2 weeks of being no-where near affectionate (without TMI) with my hubby I *think* he's beginning to get the message as well.

My food shop hasn't quite gone to plan. I delibatly only got staple food no nice freezer bits......... so every day this week he's gone and bought stuff. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

right DS2 is awake - am sure he's going down with something. he took himself to bed about 3.45 yesterday afternoon and slept till 6.15 new time today. and has just had another hour now.

You will probably feel a lot lighter not having to read her moaning, and she is bound to get the mesage now, she did seem like nothing would make her happy.

I have a feeling debt managment in these next 2 months will be non-existant.


I'll still save where I can and make no excessive outgoings but can't be regimented about it. Got a few bits to sell on fleabay etc still.

SO although I will update before hand the hard graft will start again on December 26th (or possibly January 1st).
