  • I have finally flipped with DS1 (4yrs old and been fully toilet trained for over a year).

For the last month (at least) he has been soiling his pants (and I'm not just talking skid marks) at least once a day if not twice. It doesn't matter if he is at home, school or childminders. It's driving us and them MAD!!

I have tried time outs and reward charts and nothing seems to make any difference.

I've given him a 'naughty' PNP video from Santa telling him if he doesn't stop it he'll get no presents.

I'm taking away his video game privalidges for a week today ( as he LOVES his game on the PS3) and hoping that'll work.

    Any other ideas????

Tricky one. I'm not the best one to comment as I don't have children and its a long time since my wee brother was small but I didn't want to read and run. I suppose it depends on whether he is doing it because he is too busy to find time to go to the toilet - too engrossed in his game play or whether this whole toilet business is suddenly become a bit of a fascination and he finds it funny?
  • i think the last one FE so hopefully if i take the think he enjoys away he might stop it.

    thanks.

another idea might be - I was going to buy you such and such a toy but I couldn't as I had to buy more washing powder to wash your dirty pants ..... thats a shame isn't it....
  • i've sorta tried that in the "no i can't play xxx cause i've justspend 10 minutes cleaning you up".
he has a tantrum, says sorry tells me he'll never do it again............

    ........................then repeats the next day.

  • Hi,

How about making him hand wash the dirty underpants in the sink when he does it? I know there are hygiene implications but he might think differently if he has to stop what he was doing and clear up after himself?

  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I need a vent........................

I had my 1 night out a year tonight (wooop).. Had a lovely time but due to hunger decided to come home.

Asked hubby if he wanted anything picking up.................no but i could eat the leftover pizza. (so he had bought HIMSELF 2 probably 3 pizzas for tea from the takeaway + chips = £10+)
AND he had bought himseld beer = ?? (£10 again???)

I spent a grand total of £8.50 (and only had 1 drink bought for me) then came home to reheated takeaway as I couldn't justify buying myself a hot takeaway when he'd already spent our money on it.

It's not like he's been at work all day he's been at home so could SOO easily cook his own tea (I did tell DS1 he could have chips as I get them for a treat on a Friday then cook myself something at home) but NOOOO I was having a night out therfore he can get himself treats in............. he goes to the f*ing pub EVERY MONDAY (without fail) and spend £40 a week doing so.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo cross. Wish I could get back on the tram and go straight back into town and I would if I had anyones number to ask them which pub they'd moved onto.

and he wonders why I am in such a bad mood.....he ordered me to go to our room as I was just sniping at him. the other option...............I can sit downstairs while he plays COD on PS3 - ohhhh tough choice!!!
