    Week 9

    Ohhh this will be a fun week. Hubby doesn't get paid until Thursday and has (for reasons only known to him - tho i suspect it is to pay off a beer overdraft) taken an extra £40 out of the account.

    Have told him that was the food money for next week :D so I won't be buying anything other then bread and milk....... lets see how he feels when it gets to the end of the week and there's no chips etc. For 1 its put a scupper on us having a roast dinner this week :mad: Perhaps this will make him realise he can't just spend what he wants when he wants.

    Have realised I've not been recording my £30 weekly spend - this is cause most of the time I end up buying food/ treats out with it. So am going to leave it off the target setting.

    Targets:

    Food shopping = £10
    Baby shopping = £0 (just got milk and napies - if DS2 runs out of food there are 4 boxes of make it with milk cereal he can eat - he won't know)
    Other essential shopping (cleaning products etc) = £0

    Random = £10
    Days out = £10 (I want to go swimming with the kids)

    meals out/ takeaways = £3 (when I pick DS1 up from childminders on friday kebab meat n chips to share).
    Clothes = £0
    Presents (birthday/ Christmas) = £10 (b'day cake for DS1)

    Total available to spend = £43

    I will be SOOO impressed if we manage to stick to this!!!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Meal Plan (no specific day set)
    - Pork Steaks and Mash
    - Fish (or chicken) and chips
    - sausage and chips/ mash/ boiled potatoes
    - pizza
    - pasta
    - cheese, ham, egg, potato bake
    I have been following your posts with interest. Do you find that because you are recording your spends that you are not buying as much ? How do you keep track ? do you just tally up the receipts or do you write everything down ?
    I remember many moons ago that I recorded every single penny I spent and I was amazed at how much got spent on "junk". I haven't repeated the exercise since but I have been thinking after browsing the forums the other day about rejoining the thread where you set yourself a weekly spend target and then try to stick to it....
    thanks. I definatly buy less - even said to hubby (i think it was) the other day "i'm buying naff all now i have to admit to it cause i don't want a forumite to have a go at me".
    generally I keep the receipts so i remember what i've bought then bin them after. I know there's stuff not recorded that i've forgotten about (normally online stuff) but am getting better as the weeks go on.
    plus i find having this one place to record it is easier then posting mid large threads with other people.
