HI Emily... YAY for babies.
I picked up a brand new Afghan for stitching on off ebay really cheap but not actually started it yet. I do believe it came with a chart (plus i know some other girls have one if you ever need a helping hand).
There are loads of ideas ou there - personally I wanted one so that if I saw a cute thing i wanted to stitch that was small enough to fit i would fill it with misc pictures.
Wellll Maria tis like this......... I had to go hire people then they left one farm unfinished (I am up to 11 now) so I had to do it........ then I have been looking for a laptop fan for underneath.... then i had to update my diary....... and then i found a bag of popcorn...... then I realised there was a new series of Doc Martin on........ but NOW I am going to see if i have the aida for mums christmas stitch.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Oh dear chicky. Get your stichy bug back. We want some update piccies lol. So glad I don't have a Facebook farm if it is that addictive. I'd never get anything else done. So much for going to sleep decided to watch another episode of bad girls and have now put on friends. Naughty Maria! Will be knackered again tomorrow now

Welcome Emily :j
I have been searching ebay, anyone live near Manchester? Look at this amazing cupboard, if I could afford the petrol I would snap it up but a bit too far from me0 -
I love that cabinet, but it might look odd in my light wood house
maybe I can convince DH it would fit in our bedroom...

Im expecting my first baby and would love to stitch an afghan for it but im unsure whether to fork out for a kit (approx £40  and not very MSE) or buy some afghan fabric (approx £15) and then stitch some pictures in the squares. What do you all think? Where would I find small charts/pictures for the squares?
Any advice greatfully received!
Congrats on the imminent arrival (and welcome to the thread):T
I would definitely go with buying the afghan and filling it yourself. You can buy a chart seperately or if you can say which sort of designs you are looking for (alphabet, animals etc) some of us may be able to help you out
I have completed 2 afghans, I will look out the pics if you would like to see them - one was from a chart booklet which I bought and the other was an alphabet from a magazine.postingalwaysposting wrote: »

Oh it's lovely isn't it. My house is all light wood as well so not something I would go for (mind you, at that price...!). If you really wanted it could you not buy it and arrange for a courier to collect it for you?
I am cracking on with my 12 Days, I have remembered it was all the gold metallic edging that put me off it beforebut I am persevering and am going to bring forward my target from end of Nov to the end of Oct.:j

I love itI thought I was the only one who watched it! It is loads better than the British version, this year they seemed to try to make ours more like the Australian one, but it didn't work at all. I forgot to start watching Jamie's Kitchen, I'll have to catch up on it. I love all food shows. I keep watching the Cupcake shows on Food Network too.
Well, I've been awake since 4.30am as my son woke up with a sore throat and started crying and screamingSince having Calpol he's made a miraculous recovery, moaned he's bored and wonders why he can't play and jump around! Trying to keep him quiet was proving a problem until I said, 'oh good you're all better and will be fine for school today then'. Strangely he instantly went silent and had a relapse :rotfl:
