  • Hello,
No stitching for me yet today. I have been busy doing battle with a Tardis for my nephews card, I decided to use shrink plastic, spent ages drawing it, colouring in and then shrinking it. It isn't perfect :o but it will have to do as I need to post it shortly.
I need to start doing them earlier, not last minute lol.

Hoping to get some stitching time later, I need to relax a bit.
    ;)

I hate it when you notice an error, especially when it took you ages to do it in the first place.

Well best get off to post this card

It's going to take ages to do and I'm really fed up with it already. I may do a page of backstitch and then reward myself by doing another chart in my stash. Must get back to it now or I'll never finish it. See you all later.

You know how greatful I am for your advice to do it as you go along, right? :rotfl:

I have almost finished the second panel of cross stitching (up to the big white house and the red/blue boat in your close up) and will do the backstitching before I move on. Just looking at your un-backstitched version makes me feel faint!

    How frustrating Katy.

Another day in the Forrest... Another boot and backseat full of logs... Another shattered me.
I've been invited out to a local history talk but bath and stitching feels so much more appealing. That's what you'd do, right?

I'm so annoyed with myself  I spent nearly 4 hours cross stitching the orange colour for the sky of my sunset last night, then just as I was putting it away I realised it was only meant to be half stitches :( So far this morning I've unpicked half of it, but I've had to take a break as it's driving me crazy!

Ouch! How annoying. Better to find the mistake now though than when you have finished the piece completely.

for tidying attic that really means cramming more junk up there

Well all that unpicking is finally finished! It's nice to come on here as you ladies all know how annoying it is to make these mistakes, hubby didn't understand why I was so annoyed with myself. I just had to get away from it this morning, but I've sat down and sorted it out now.

mrs-moneypenny I never put anything in our loft as I'm too scared of heights. I just stand on the bottom rung of the ladder and peer up there lol. So we don't have a very tidy house as all our junk stays downstairs!

23rdspiral enjoy your bath and stitching, it sounds like you earned a rest!

I think I'm too frustrated to do any stitching tonight. I'll watch my recorded Masterchef Australia and then Britain's Next Top Model instead :)

Just back from the inlaws and taken the time to catch up. I tried reading the thread on my phone but its so fiddly.

I LOVE the crafty birthday stuff you did AM - when/if we ever have children i hope to do all that sort of stuff. Updates/finished stitch pics look fantastic too.

I'm hoping to pick up my needle tomorrow as the weekend at the inlaws broke me (even with a 2 hour sleep every afternoon!). I'm sure my MIL thinks i'm lazy rather than ill

Tonight I'm just going to trash out on the sofa with DH and the cat :)

Thank you :o, I best get started on DS's birthday now! lol.

And I can sympathise with the being ill and people thinking you're just lazy. I am ill and needing a lot of test treatments and operations, but to people just looking I look fine and lazy. It is so frustrating. Have a hug from me :grouphug:.

  • Hello everyone

I've been lurking for a while now and would love to join in. I'm quite a new stitcher and have a couple of kits that im working on at the moment, ill try and post some pictures at some point.

Im expecting my first baby and would love to stitch an afghan for it but im unsure whether to fork out for a kit (approx £40  and not very MSE) or buy some afghan fabric (approx £15) and then stitch some pictures in the squares. What do you all think? Where would I find small charts/pictures for the squares?

    Any advice greatfully received!
