  • Ah I love that Lottie picture, Augustsmummy. And what neat stitches your daughter has stitched.

I've nearly finished the next page of Forest Walk. I seem to have been on this page forever as there has been loads of confetti stitching but the end is in sight. I have Thurs and Fri off work. I will have to do some housework one of those days (Grrrr) but as a reward I'll have a whole day to stitch.

I am returning to my old job in two weeks as I finish my contact. I was hoping to stay on but there is no room for me. :( I'm not looking forward to going back so to cheer me up I bought Seashell Treasures to do on my lunch breaks. I'm going to frame it when it's finished but haven't decided where I'll put it. I would love it in our bathroom but all the walls are tiled from floor to ceiling. Oh well. Maybe in the next house we move into

    Have a good day all.

  • Thank you Elle, DD loves watching me stitch, this is one skill I am hoping she will develop :). Her favourite thing to do is choose new projects for mummy!

Can you not use a special drill bit for tiles, and wall plugs to hang your finished master piece?

Well I have 4 days to stitch it, frame it and wrap it for DD, so I best crack on with the backstitch on Lottie!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

  • Hello,

First of all THANK YOU so much for all your kind words. I'm pleased to tell you my tests have all come back clear & my brother is out of hospital (I spoke to him on the phone but haven't been up yet).

To add to last weeks sagas (it could only happen to me); I ended up in A&E after the scan & fine needle biopsy on the lump on Tuesday. The doctor thought he may have caught my chest wall giving me an accidental pneumothorax! Thankfully he hadn't, he'd only burst one of the cyst cluster and the pain from that had made me faint!!!!! :rotfl:

Anyway, all is good now and I've finally caught up on here from my week missing in action.

Your pics are all so fabulous again.

    Barclaycard - 0% - £1845 to go :(
  • Thanks for the heads up on the magazine subscriptions Auntie H, but I am now left with a difficult decision ladies.
If I subscribe for £5 for 5 issues then 13 at £35.99 I won't qualify for the free DMC thread box.
If I subscribe at £8.99 for 3 issues then £39.99 for 13 issues I qualify. The DMC box is RRP £26.
Hmmm decisions decisions, save money or get the free gift?!
Any ideas ladies on which would be best? Thanks in advance AMx

  • Total cost -

    £5+£35.99+£26 = £66.99 (Buy box separately)
    £5+£35.99+£15 = £55.99

    or

    £8.99+39.99+£0 = £48.98 (free box)

If you buy the box independently of the offer it will cost you £18 more....

but... 1) do you need it? 2) can you afford it 3) is it cheaper than £26 elsewhere?

    Certainly is £14.99 (http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/DMC-Wooden-Thread-Box-With-30-Stranded-Cottons__DMC-U1658.aspx)

However, still £7 cheaper to go for the box offer.... decisions decisons
  • Thank you for that tellmeitsfriday.
I could use the box, as at the moment my threads are all slung in a little bag :o. As I have started buying the magazine every month either deal will save me money.
Hmm, will ask DH whether santa could come early ;) and treat me. (especially as his birthday present appeared 4 months early)

    Thanks

  • Eeek I am such an accountant aren't I!

I love numbers, almost as much as a envelope of new threads popping through the letter box

You'd only have to pay the £9 now - the £40 subscription could be your present, and that would line up for payment just in time for an "on-time" christmas present ;)

Eek I can talk myself into things like this using this logic, and now I am doing it to other people too... argh!!!

How lovely! Nice to hear of kids wanting to get involved in what some see as an 'old fashioned' hobby.

I am so pleased to read that you are ok! :j and your brother too. Did the phone call go ok?
You fainting from the pain of a cyst bursting reminded me of a similar thing happening to my Dad. He had a patch of skin cancer on the side of his forehead, right above an eye. When they were cutting it out they accidentally cut a piece of skin that had no anaesthetic in it, Dad fainted from the pain and a crash team were called! They thought he had had another heart attack and were getting ready to use the paddles when he came round. Dad woke up surrounded by doctors wondering what was going on :rotfl:
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Good thinking, I may have convinced DH too! yay!
    Thanks tellmeitsfriday for your help.
