  • I spent some lovely, lovely time stitching. I will not post anything because it doesn't look like I have done anything... It is my first really big project, and so I am being extra, extra careful about doing it and making sure I get the right stitches in the right place. However, it calmed me down and made me feel very peaceful and lovely. :)

Right, really need to get to work! :)

    Morning ladies.

Got some more stitching done yesterday whilst F1 was on. I think I have decided that once the face is done I will go back to using the smaller frame. The bigger frame is ok whilst actually stitching but when it comes to finishing off the thread it becomes awkward to keep flipping over to get to the back.

Crickett. Glad you enjoyed your stitching time :)

Bubbles - i've finally found the spine chart! (i'm sure it was you wanting a spine something like that for a chiropractor?) it's quite small, just 29 x 15 stitches. pm me your email and i can send you the chart.

  • Well, I am on with more party prep today. To be honest this flippin party is taking more planning than my wedding day did! I think it's because I want DD to have such a good day as her summer holiday was a bit of a let down (I was in and out of hospital for most of it, so she spent a lot of time visiting me :() so I want to make it up to her.

I did get some stitching time yesturday and Lottie is coming along nicely. Just backstitch and lettering to do now :T.
Will post pics this evening, hope you all have a lovely day!

  • Hey Guys! I'm going to post an update on my stitchy-mc-foo later (yes thats what my OH calls it)
but first a completly off stitch subject (but i don't know where else to ask and I hope one of you can point me the right way)

down the road from me there is a house that has just been sold I'm not even sure if there is anyone living there at the moment because there is post on the mat (front door is glass) and all the curtains are drawn (its the middle of the day.)

However there is a large pile of "junk"/trash out te front including big liners of actual waste/rubbish, but amonst them are some items that OH and I find interesting and would gladly take home.
We tried to knock/ring the bell but No answer.

The stuff is all in their drive way, (we live on a main road)

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the etiquette for this would be. I don't want to do anything naughty but I would hate to miss out on what I think is pure treasure.

PP. I know alot of people would just take what they want but I'm not one of them. I would be too worried that a neighbour would call the cops and I'd get in trouble :rotfl:
Personally I'd drop a note in the door with my info on asking if they could get in touch as I'm interested in some of things they seem to be getting rid of, then hope they get in touch before someone else takes the stuff first.

i hope everyone is ok with all this wind? i have given up tying some of the tarps down in the garden, and have put them in the shed. logs and the table can just get wet (far cheaper than replacing a blow away/ripped tarp). and we've had the main branch of the pear tree come down :0( i keep looking out the window at the cherry tree wondering quite how much it will bend before snapping!

on the plus side i've been able to turn the spin cycle on the washing machine right down! am on the 3rd wash of the day :). i am having to tripple peg things though - almost lost the duvet cover!:rotfl:

so that plus the fact i was super duper with the house work yesterday (on a sunday!) means i have done a happy couple of hours stitching this afternoon. CSI and CrossStitch, it's the new best thing!

Here's a pic of my small progress so far, on my new stand :) . I promise to take more regular update photos again.

All sunday eve and no posts? Hope ur all off stitching?

I managed tomget the house looking good before my friend arrived. Think OH was happy - he offered to take us out for curry! Was a lovely evening :0). Hope urs was too?

had no electricity from just before 3pm to gone 11.30pm  managed to stitch whilst the light held then it was down to mothers for tea and back to sit in the dark/read by torchlight/drink red wine and wait while they fixed the fault (they had disconnected us so we didn't want them disappearing without reconnecting us first!!)

And above is DD's first attempt at stitching, she did it at nursery before the holidays, but she saw me uploading Lottie pics the other day and asked me to share it with you all :). I think she may be a fellow stitcher :T.

Well best get some sleep, Night x
