I am currently working on a couple of birthday cards, and fighting with my new ink pad  think I bought the wrong one Grrr!

Anyway back to sewing, Lottie is coming on well, last night I braved the dreaded backstitch, just a bit on the skirt and around the wand to do. Then on to the letting and it will be finally finished! :T Hopefully tonight.

Tomorrow I shall be baking buns and cakes (egg free of course so my wee boy can join in the fun!) then friday I will be icing them, hopefully while DH does the cleaning ;).

I hope all the effort pays off and the kids have a lovely day.

Right off to finish cards and Lottie, will post pics of Lottie once I finish her :).
Hope you have all had a good day,

WOXS landed here as well, DD spotted the lovely Eyore - I think I will have that as my "bedside table" stitch after the Wren has been finished.

    Hello maria
I have indeed been crafting for DDs party and I will take pics and share. It has been a busy week!
Lottie is just at lettering stage now, so should be finished very soon :T so a :p to DH for doubting I would finish it in time! :rotfl:

Best crack on, want to get it washed tonight so I can frame it in the morning before the baking starts!
I shall post pics as soon as I have a minute,

  • :( Can't get WOCS until its in the shops tomorrow, hope its a good edition.

Haven't done anything on my London design lately but I did stitch this little cute mouseloft today on and off. Didn't take as long as I thought it might. Super cute too :D

Ps, I know the backstitch on the top left petal is casting a shadow. Thats because it wasn't pulled tight for the pic, all sorted now :T

Hi everyone, some lovely makes and progress.

I haven't caught up yet from my treks to dorset and then holiday in France - we had a great time but no stitching as lighting too bad to stitch.

I'm plodding along with the tiger and it's getting on my nerves it so very tedious. I've run out of several threads and had to substitute with others but, as my husband says "it's a tiger no one will ever know".

I do have a question, the kit uses Opal Ribbon, it's Dimensions kit. I've googled it and can't find what it is or where to buy some. Do you think Kreinik opal ribbon might do it? Alternatively should I just use white floss but 6 strands?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Will try to back read and cathc up on everyone's news, hope you are all well (sorry to hear about the vertigo EJS).

Of course you can join in and welcome :D

The blue lines are to make it easier to count on a bigger design. They correspond with the thicker lines on the chart so you only have to count in tens to get to the middle (for example) rather than counting each square.

The lines are done in a pen that disappears either with time or with washing.

And above is DD's first attempt at stitching, she did it at nursery before the holidays, but she saw me uploading Lottie pics the other day and asked me to share it with you all :). I think she may be a fellow stitcher :T.

Well best get some sleep, Night x
:T:T:T that's fantastic! Please say "well done" to her from me :)

Hello! Welcome to the thread and your new hobby! Good going for finding that mag.
Do u mean marking the Aida with blue stitches? The grid helps some of us stitch quicker, well for me it's not speed but stops me having to count and remember numbers, instead I can just remember the pattern in that grid square. I use cotton thread for cheapness, others but magic aida that washes out, most I think use blue wash out pen.:)
