hey everyone, i was at work till 10:15 last night! so not in till 11.00!! but it was nice, we had an even on in the courtyard of our historic house museum... The Secret Garden. i even got to watch most of it sneekily... and do a little stitching too! so that cupcake is nearly done!
my ebay thread cutter came yesterday, but OH didnt bother to tell me, though i guess i was too tired to notice the package too. it's fab! very pretty and totally steam punk seamstress!
AND i got a *wonderful* surprise... a friend saw that i'd shared a pic of the 11 Doctors (Doctor Who) chart on facebook, simpy saying 'want' above it. And he bought it for me! :j:j i couldnt believe it!He's a lovely chap, but has been cash strapped for many years so it was a complete shock. at first i thought he'd ripped it somehow through etsy, but no, he actually bought it
. I guess i need to offer to stitch him a Dr or two!
So i'm going to order propper DMC threads from accross town, anyone know how to do that best? i'm guessing send them an email with my list? i hope i can find that 15% off code...
oh and i got 2 packs of 10 DMC Gold Concept Stitchbows today in a CS for only 10p each pack. good timing eh? :0)Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Very cute!
You can edit the size of a pic very easily in photobucket. When in your album hover over the pic you want to edit and some options will come up. Choose edit and your pic will load, then along the top choose resize. To start with you might need to mess about with sizes to get one you are happy with. Personally I just halve the numbers and it comes out fine.23rdspiral wrote: »So i'm going to order propper DMC threads from accross town, anyone know how to do that best? i'm guessing send them an email with my list? i hope i can find that 15% off code...
You can order from the site and pay by paypal but you will pay full price then they refund the 15% discount manually. I found it easiest to call Louise because she took the 15% off before I paid with the credit card.
This is the message she posted on facebook...
ok guys, we'd like to offer all of our Facebook friends 15%
off on our website until the end of September. Unfortunately
our merchant provider does not have a discount code function
(Paypal), so the only way we can do this is if you write the
code FACEBOOK15 in the 'Add Special Instructions to the Seller'
box when paying and we will refund you the 15% straight away.
I know this is a pain, but is the only way we can do it!
I'll pm you acrosstown phone number incase you want to call.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
hi shelly, THANK YOU.
i just spent quite a very long while sorting out which threads i want for my next few projects (cutting it down to 50, changing my mind about a project ect, cross ref against what i have in anchor that would do if there's only a small amount ect...) being dyslexic makes handling all those random numbers so very tricky.
therefore actually being able to talk to the lady was fab. i'm quite excited now to wait for my threads. (though can totally see the benefit and ease of bying kits!) what a change from being a cover-kit and 99p special girl!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. I have a floor frame and I love it.
If you attach your frame to the stand in the way the online pics show then I don't think it would induce backache too much if at all, depending on how close to you you could comfortably use it. If attaching in this way I'd recommend getting a 'helping hand' to go with it too, especially if you want to use quite big frames on it. The helping hand attaches your frame to the stand where the nuts and bolts are, without it your stitches will get crushed.
I do get a bit of backache but I attach my frame the opposite way to the online pics, just because that's how I have always stitched and I can't get used to the other way.
Disclaimer ~ If anyone reading this goes on to buy a floor stand and gets backache, I am in no way responsible :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
