Louise you should have bought it i'd have even offered to go and collect it for you. My oh saw me looking at the pic and said !!!!!! where the hell do you think you're going to put that. Oooooh i was itching to reply but bit my tongue. I could get rid of him and put it in the corner where he sits though my reply to him wouldn't have been so polite.

23rd the card for val is ace. I think it's lovely.

Bubbles loved the shoe card is lovely and the heart. welcome back too.

  • Bubbles love both your pieces any chance of a nudge on the 2nd one? Please.
Chicky I feel for you I really do. People can be so judgmental and quick to comment when it comes to other peoples children. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.
Hugs to all and I promise to post piccies soon

When people moan about having to do backstitching I have always said I enjoy it......until now that is! I didn't realise that this one contained backstitch that didn't go in the holes but in between (if that makes sense). I had to use a normal sharp sewing needle but got there in the end. 5 days to complete it.

It's a pain when backstitch does that. I usually swap the fabric for evenweave to make it easier but I know not everyone likes stitching on it. All tatty teddy kits do this. Think newtons law ones might too.
It looks great, though! And well done for getting your Christmas stitching organised so early.

I got some more stitching done yesterday, filling in some of the small areas I have been putting off. Some of them are just a little too far apart to trail the thread across the back which really bugs me!

I usually do the bits in between, then weave the thread through the back of a few stitches until I get to where I need to be. Lazy, me? ;)

I'm doing one like that at the moment and it's such as PITA  It's on an aida band as well, so I couldn't swap it for evenweave as Ruth_honey suggests. Grrrr....

    Nope, not a clown fish.

I've got a few of those mags. Tracked down some older issues for a blackwork chart I wanted. The *huge* real counties of Britain one. Didn't realise the mag was still going. You don't tend to find it in the shops.
