Just off to my olds for a couple of days - stitching is going with me and the kids.
Best friend rang last night - she has finally (13 days late) had her baby no. 3 and after 2 boys she now has a princess as well. Megan Grace weighing 8lb 9oz and both extremely well and already got the whole family wrapped around her little finger. :j:j:jMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000
Savings for big things £90170 -
beg. I love the framed Cottage garden, it's beautiful!!
Louise. Nice progress!
I got some more stitching done yesterday, filling in some of the small areas I have been putting off. Some of them are just a little too far apart to trail the thread across the back which really bugs me!
Was up early this morning to do a car boot. We have never done one before but had lots of stuff from the clear out recently that was too good to dump. We made just over £110!!
We are still in shock I think. We thought if we made £30 we would be happy with that so to make what we did is amazing!
We plan another one soon because as it was we couldn't get it all in the car this morning.
Also I went on muscimagpie in the week to get rid of all our cds and we can make another £50 there.
I have already been on ebay with my half of the ££ looking for kits :rotfl:
Now I have to go get ready as we have friends coming this evening because it's hubbys 40th birthday in the week
Have a nice evening ladies!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
hi everyone, quite here.. i hope you're all off stitching or having fun outside or something! i havnt chosen a new project yet, i keep changing my mind. silly me. i've no patience right now, so that's not helping. i want to try needle felting but the kits on ebay are quite expensive, so i tried crochet this afternoon... i have 2 respectable rows of 21... and am bored now so have put it away. oh well. think i'll move some furniture about. i dont know where all this nervous energy is come from. we were suposed to have a brewing weekend, but a friend seriously messed us about and it fell through. as we were doing that i'd even turned down free 200 quid tickets to a local holistic / music festival, which has really irked me! so i guess i've a weight on my shoulders to 'make the most of the long weekend', which means pressure, which means nothing is good enough. silly silly me.
anyway, though i'd give you all a good chuckle - here's a pic of Val's 90th card:
yes, it took a silly long time for what it is:o, yes the flowers look odd:o, yes the although there's one square between the flowers and the name it looks so wrong because the V is close and the L isnt, and yes there's some stitches with the top / going the wrong way!:o oh dear meRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. sorry to multiple post, but would like the advice of more advance stitchers on this ebay lot:

although it says crochet in the title, they look like normal anchor threads. i want to place an AcrossTown order for DMC, but some of the charts i want to do, inc MPowell i think, use anchor. what do people think? thankyou. and, yes, you're right about the fractionals. i got so confused. each petal and leaf was 6 stitches, only 2 of which were normal, the other 4 were fractional.

They are easy to follow, I like the large print and they are rather similar to the HAED charts tbh :T23rdspiral wrote: »*Louise* - i think this ebay lot is for you hun... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DMC-stranded-cotton-free-spinner-stand-/160640705563?pt=UK_Crafts_CrossStitch_RL&clk_rvr_id=260080107177 xxx
Oooo pretty...I could just see hubby's face if I wanted to set that up in the corner of the living room:D:D
Btw, I think the card is lovely and if you hadn't pointed anything out to us I'm sure no one would have noticed (I still can't see the 'wrong way' stiches!) I'm sure Val will love it :j
Shelly - congrats on the sucessfull car boot!!:T Do you have plans for the proceeds? (Apart from kits):rotfl: We keep meaning to do one again but never get round to it.
