Thanks louise, just been looking at your homepage, you are very talented.
Have found a couple of guides and yes basically it just help with making sure I am doing stitches etc correctly. I think the half stitches are wrong how I have been doing it !!!!
Just found some good mag offers via TCB, 5 for £5.00 on WOXS and cross stitch crazy, or 3 for £5.00 cross stitch cards plus 15% cashback. Is there a favourite out of these 3? Would like to get them all but thats not very MSE is it?
Also it says you can back order from September, if I do this will they send me 2 issues out together do you know?Clixsense since 31.01.16 $122.13 Neo bux since 31.01.16 400 RR $1018.00
Swagbucks since 27.09.15 £310 amazon gc, $50.00 Steam gc £100.00 paypal 2,805 points to cash out0 -
I'm going to take it how it comes on Sunday. I'm not expecting to do an amazing time or anything and i expect i shall walk a good part of it. I'm just hoping the momentum of the occasion will get me through. I'm keeping a running diary here there are some useful tips and ideas that other posters have shared :j
You'll be fine, the hype of the race will get you through. Good luckGreat idea with the tokens - I have slacked off a bit from the couch to 5k training since the summer hols ended and need to get back out there again.
Need to invest in something warm/waterproof but not too big and bulky for my early morning runs - any advice on where to look for suitable jackets (am trying to avoid flourescent yellow/pink ones as am trying to stay well hidden and my face is bright red enough as it is!)
Sp*rts Direct do some okay Karrimor ones, thin enough to run in and they're running-specific. They're about £15 I think and whilst they do have bright ones, they also have black ones with just a bit of bright.0 -

I personally would go with WOXS - I have subscribed to that mag for at least 5 years now and have never been disappointed with an issue :T
No idea if they would send out 2 issues....I would assume they would be pretty close together though since one has already been released.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Louise. Touched by Magic is coming along really nicely:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

I second what Shelly said Louise. The amount of work you're putting into it is phenomenal. It will look beautiful.

That is a fab idea, cant believe someone on here has nearly the same name as me too. Or did you mean me?
oops, yes I meant u! Sorry, mix of dyslexic plus using safari means I don't always say what I mean.
I scanned and posted a how to a little while ago http://www.flickr.com/photos/23rdspiral/6140284197/in/photostream and http://www.flickr.com/photos/23rdspiral/6140285237/in/photostream/ . I found it useful as it shows how to fasten off the thread, including the Loop Start which I didn't know till people here showed me, and also a glossary. It's from a quite old mag so no issues I can see with me posting it for reference.
Thanks chicky. I'll put together a list of free sites I know when I can. Maybe others can do the same and then they can be smooshed together into a full list.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. I too like WOXS - I've had quite a few now. Thanks for all the comments on the snowman. Think you have inspired me to do another one (different design) now!!Challenge savings 2010-2016 £1564.60:j

I can't quite remember who was asking about reasonably priced kits (haven't got the hang of quoting yet!) but I bought my first few kits really cheaply from The Black Sheep, the kits in their sale section seem to change fairly regularly.

(sorry I can't post links properly!)
Louise: I'm in awe of how quickly and neatly you stitch! I seem to make hardly any progress in a day... impressive stuff.
And for whoever is compiling the list: Here are some free sites I have bookmarked, some are better than others... (again, apologies for rubbish links, hopefully someone can translate them into proper ones!)

Hi All,
Having a bit of a panic - found out that I've got to have more chemo possibly as soon as the week after next (waiting for the appointment to come through). So I am stitching like mad as I want to get my sister's stocking done before then, I'll feel more relaxed once I've got the cross stitch out of the way - the backstitch shouldn't take too long. This is how the stocking looked on 10th October.

and here is how it looks now - I'm onto the last page of stitching and there's not much on this page. So just the foot part to go and adding my sister's name.
