Just a thought inspired by loubylou, we should add a list of fave sites that give free charts in our first post links section.
Eg Michael Powell... Some of us only learned he did free ones a little while ago.
Lucy heaton. Etc... Sorry I cant post easily from iPad.
Cross stitcher mag sometimes has them online.
The making spot had some.
What other sites do u know?Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Dorastar - ebay may be able to supply something - I have bought most of my running/cycling kit from various places on there for a fraction of the price sometimes- even if you get a dark jacket its worth making sure it has those reflective strips so that you do stand out if its a little dark if you are running early morning.
Will keep my eye out - must enter some sort of race - hadnt because was not suppose to be in country until january but now I am I want to get back into it.
Observer - Love your snowman - looks so sparkly...
Would anyone like to tell me how my to sew list just gets bigger - its breeding (my fauly DSS1 & 2 decided they love a latch hook rug I made and want a matching one (well a lion instead of a leopard) and Ive just managed to get one fairly cheaply on ebay). No more stitchy things until I have finished something...anything0 -
I love the sparkly snowman Observer its great.
I have never been into running myself, cant be bothered with all that. Its nice and warm inside.
I am still on with my bookmark, I havent done any this week - Think I need to get cracking on with it, as its for xmas. I have loads of UFO that I have started but not yet finished.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

i loveeeeeee sparkly snowman.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Ocemeer. Nice Snowman progress.
Littlemonkey. Nice work.
Chicky. I need that design in my kitchen right next to the goodie cupboard :rotfl:
Dizzy lizzie. Nice flowers, I love the colours.
Observer. Loving the snowman. Simple design but very effective use of the sparkly thread.Cant wait to get started now. Where does everyone find the kits to be the best place to buy from, looked on ebay but they still seem very expensive, saying that it has been about 5 years since I bought anything, used to be able to get some great stuff in the Boyes sale. Closed down about 5 year ago now, anyway i would love to join if you will have me. Will post a pic of my completed projects and my UFO.
Lupyloo x
Welcome!
Most of my kit stash has come from ebay. I search for cross stitch kit/s then filter search to auction only then time:ending soonest. Can get some real last minute bargains that way.
If I see a kit I really like I will google for it and see if it is available elsewhere and for how much. Have seen lots of auctions end up costing the bidders more than if they had bought from a site online because they obviously haven't googled first.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi all, sounds like you have all been busy, loving the flowers and snowman, I can feel the christmas spirit approaching lol
Anyway, thought I would post an update on Touched by Magic at last, I have completed two pages this month (about 11,700 stitches) which you can see on the top right.
Here it was when I put it away in July
Now
Close up of area. It's weird that I can't see the picture when I'm actually stitching it, it's only when I step back and look at the whole thing I can get the effect.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. That is a fab idea, cant believe someone on here has nearly the same name as me too. Or did you mean me?
Thank you all for the welcomes, off to search ebay now. Just had a look at some of the kits and they dont look too bad a price, however some of them dont say sizes though. Does any of you lovlies know of any free winne the pooh designs for free, or do all of these have to be bought. Also if I was to get the pattern how do I know how much thread etc to buy?
Just onemore question, I sort of taught myself to xstitch and I think I make more hard work than it should be. Is there an idiotd guide on how to do it. Sounds daft asking after I have already done some but any help is appreciated.Clixsense since 31.01.16 $122.13 Neo bux since 31.01.16 400 RR $1018.00

Amazing Louise, it looks just gorgeous. Now I know I am doing it wrong because I tend to do a shape at a time lol. Yours looks much more organised. Will try and google a beginners guide and see if I can find out what I should be doing instead of guessing. xClixsense since 31.01.16 $122.13 Neo bux since 31.01.16 400 RR $1018.00

Thank you- but I bet you're not doing it wrong!
I am only doing a section at a time because there are so many pages to do, I just complete one before going on to the next. There's nothing wrong with working on one shape before another, that's how I work smaller designs.
What sort of info are you needing? Once you know how to do the crosses (making sure they all go the same way) it's just a matter of picking up hints and tips along the way. Have you tried youtube? It's nto a site I use often myself but they seem to have tutorials for absolutely EVERYTHING lolCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
