I popped in just to have a vent about a bill received from Parcelforce this morning. Here's the deal... my fella has humongous feet (13 EEEEE if you must know) and as a result cannot buy shoes anywhere in Britain. Yes, we've tried all the mail-order firms going... However, he can get shoes from the US so every other year we buy a couple pair.
This year, ParcelForce has a new scam. Rather than delivering the package, then billing you for VAT (and "import duty"--I wasn't aware the UK had an indigenous shoe industry to protect???), it holds the parcel, has you pay by credit card, and charges you £13.50 for the privilege!
I expected VAT, I can handle "import duty" as I assume it's imposed by the government as well. But a £13.50 "ParcelForce Clearance Fee" is just ridiculous. When things are sent by post, the POSTAGE is supposed to cover the cost. And rather substantial postage was paid on this package when we ordered it (along with US state taxes...)
To add insult to injury, their online payment system was not working today. I ended up having to use a tremendously clumsy telephone payment system.0 -
It is the item and not the paperwork that is being shipped out isn't it? only i questioned this a while back and it turns out the parcel is on its way to you but the paperwork goes elsewhere to be stamped.0

(express refund under 1 day,. only if they got the stuff in that quick) and they said ,...only the sender can claim for a refund of the postage (we dont know if the parcel is lost yet),.

Getting something delivered from Amazon, paid extra for the first class delivery. Expecting it yesterday but didn't turn up. So I used the tracking service both on Amazon and Parcelforce itself to find out where my parcel was.
Turns out they 'attempted delivery' 3.30pm yesterday and 'attempted redelivery' 3.34pm today. In both cases, the 'recipient was not at home'.
Hmm. Funny that, how can you try to deliver TWICE to my OFFICE building in which 400 odd people work DURING THE DAY and where reception is fully staffed 24 hours a day and 'recipient was not at home'? Try and worm your way out of that one Parcelforce!
The service there is appalling, I had to wait on hold for 25 minutes before I could get through to anyone and all they can tell you is what you can see for yourself on their website. The driver has blatantly not come (couldn't be bothered?) and lied that he attempted delivery. The guy at the depot said an explanation may be that it was a new driver and so he was unsure of the routes. Er...no?
It makes me so mad. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest! Grrrr.0 -
Parcelfarce
I note you said where 400 "odd people" work- cant blame him then.lol0 -
parcelfarce indeed!
But there is a central reception at ground level, both at the front and rear of the building, where all post/couriers/delivery etc go and then gets re-delivered internally. There is absolutely no way on earth that they 'tried' and were unable to make a delivery. All blatant lies.0 -
Do they definitely still have your parcel then? At least they didnt fake the signature and steal the goods.0
-
It may, Just may, have been that the guys in your goods in/postroom refused delivery if they did not know who you were - it does happen.0
