i applied for a loan via loan solutions to be told that i had been accepted and that i needed to pay £54 to allow the loan to be processed, i did this and was told that my paprwork would be emailed to me after 4pm that day, all i had to do was to check the contents and then scan it back to them and then with 5 working days i would recieve the funds into my bank, customer services never answered the phone and when they did i was constantly put on hold for upto 20 minutes, they promised me that i didnt need a guarantor. The 5th working day came and went and when i queried the situation they told me that the loan company had sent me my paperwork in the post and it turned out that it was a guarantor loan company and my funds never arrrived. Please don`t use this company, they are making money out of honest people.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Hopefully, you have followed the advice on this forum and claimed your money back.

  • My name is Ian Green. I run an IFA firm called Green Financial.
It appears a number of people are complaining to their bank about Greenleaf Finance taking unexpected direct debits. The banks (and there have been a few) then call MY number! I don't know where they are getting it from but I am NOTHING to do with Greenleaf Finance.
Their website is w w w dot greenleaffinance dot co dot uk and there is a phone number on the contact us tab to call re complaints
a company called greenleaf finance took 49.99 from my bank account on a day when i wasnt using my laptop and also ihad never applied for a loan with them my bank gave me aphone no but it was only an answering service which after 4 calls was full up iam trying to get my money back with the help of my banks fraud department ijust wanted to warn people about this company

    Hi Ian,

Surely that is something that has to be taken up with the bank as it's not the person complaining that is passing your details on.
  • loan solutions is a joke, i'd tell anybody looking for a loan to stay well clear of them. A friend of mine was desperate for a loan so he applied to a number of them online, he then got a text from loan solutions saying that he qualified for a loan with them and he'd get the money in a few days, all he had to do was complete some paper work that they sent him and as soon as they get it back the money would be payed but he had to pay £59.99 admin fees first, so he did. He sent the paper work back that they sent but he didn't hear from them after so he rang the number they'd previously spoken to him on but it would come up with a recorded message saying your through to loan solutions and someone will be with you shortly then it would play music for about 10 mins then cut him off, he even tried a number he found on the're website and the same thing has happened as well and they haven't responded to his emails.
Any company say they can give you a loan then ask for a fee for admin charges is a con stay well clear of them, all they do is invoke false hope in getting the money and as soon as they get your money do nothing for you!!

Broker websites promising loans in return for upfront admin fees = Scams.

    Thanks. Noted.
  • All,

I have spent much time in the last 2 days trying to get my refund after paying the fee and realising you then receive no service. I felt a mug for paying them but would have felt more of a mug if I did not get it back.

Firstly, notify your bank asap, they should look at this terrible company that has conned you in a sympathetic light. Persevere with the bank as I spoke to one person at Natwest who was useless and one who was brilliant.

Natwest set up a 3 way conference call and Loan Solutions accepted to give me a refund immediately. They requested I e-mailed them and then they would pay me back.

See the e-mail I sent below, happy for you to use this - I hope you get your money back. Once you do, ring up their 'new application' team and muck them around. Don't abuse them as they will put the phone down but keep asking silly questions! I will be doing this and it will make me feel I have won! Good luck

    Dear Sir/madam,

I request that you refund my fee of £79.99 that I paid at 14:00 on Monday 26/11.

I have not received an e-mail from Loan Solutions as I was informed that I would between 16:00 and 17:30 on 26/11. Therefore, no introduction to a lender has occured, the service that I requested and paid for has not been fulfilled.

I have tried to call Loan Solutions numerous times in the last two days. I have not been able to speak to any company representative as the phone number that I call from appears to have been blocked by Loan Solutions. For this reason I contacted my bank, Natwest and had a 3 way conference call this morning. It was explained on the call at 09:30 on 28/11 that my refund will occur within the next 30 days. I expect to receive this within 30 days.

If I do not receive this within 30 days, I will be taking legal action without notice. 'Failing to return fees in excess of £5 when a consumer does not take up a loan or enter into an agreement within six months of an introduction to a lender, for whatever reasons, contrary to section 55 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974'.

Please reply to this mail to acknowledge receipt of my request. If any information is required please contact me.

What accounts are you talking about? You can close any account that doesn't have any balance owing on it, by contacting the lender. But not one with a 6k balance as it still needs to be repaid.
  • i paid these con men £60 to process a loan that they said did not need a guarantor. complete lies, no loan followed. on a positive note, i recently contacted the financial ombudsman to complain about not receiving a refund, this prompted loan solutions in action and in received a refund within days. this process cost me nothing.
