Hello everyone,
I have no idea about who organises the rules etc of all the kind & generous original posts, but it seems to me that if as well as stating E (end date), the date of op original post was put in title. I think then you could see at a glance if it was new or not. What do you think?Comping Challenge £360 / reached Feb!
Armani watch, manicure set, dinner at Rhodes24 London & loose diamond, Body Shop Hamper, chopping boards, book.
Thanks to OP's:T0 -
Hi,
Know i'm guilty of it myself of this on occasion although I always use the thanks button too, I agree that this is the best way of keeping track on posts that I've used and I only thank in writing if it's a comp I really like the prize on, if there is a problem with the link etc or if I think there has been a lot of work in the answers. Oh I have bumped in the past too if I've seen a comp in later pages of the board that is just about to finish in case people have missed it would peeps prefere this not to happen too? I'll try and amend my ways and only use the thanks button but hope this doesn't spoil the great atmosphere on this site which is really why so many people keep coming back I'm sure as appose to other comping sites which aren't as friendly.£2008 for 2008 member number 265:beer:Need £2008 won £2664.98...so far...:T Library Bus of 33 Little Mss Books :T0 -

Only problem I could see with that would be the length of the title! Don't get to post many comps...can hardly ever find new ones! but length of title is often an issue! that and really don't want to make any more work for the people who do post all the comps!! Hate to put them off £2008 for 2008 member number 265:beer:Need £2008 won £2664.98...so far...:T Library Bus of 33 Little Mss Books :T0 -
I'm just wondering just how many peeps here actually enter tiebreaker comps?0

It very rare, actually extremely rare that I enter tiebreak competitions as I am so hopeless at them!Weight Loss - 102lb0

I've always been scared of tiebreakers, but have decided I'll start trying them - either online, or for postal comps where there are lots of prizes on offer so I might have a chance of getting a runner up prize.0

Its not a bad idea but I think that it would be too confusing and people would get mixed up between closing date and date of post. The way it is at the moment also makes it alot easier for the guides to move posts to game over etcWeight Loss - 102lb0 -
Since J.S.Smooth is my favourite tipple, I have collected several sweepstake horse codes from their promotional packs.
However, I cannot find the winning codes on th J.S. website as described on the entry form. Since there are no contact details on the site has anybody cracked this problem? - They were supposed to be available from 14th April.

I very seldom enter tie-breakers. I prefer the easy, fill in your details and submit, ones.42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot:hello: Good Luck everyone !:hello:0

I've noticed (not so much on the comps forum but on other ones) quite a few people have lines asking for thanks in their sigs - is it just some sort of ego trip or do they move up some sort of ranking system?
A few times on the Pigsback thread I have seen people copy links and answers that have already been posted by somebody else, then say something like "please thank me if you find this useful" as if they are trying to hijack the OP's thanks - is there a good reason for doing this or are they just pr*ts?
Anyway, going back to thanks on the comp threads, I agree that if there is some sort of follow up, query or clarification to a comp it should still have a reply even though it bumps it up - in fact bumping it up might help people who were hanging on for clarification before entering. But just adding a thanks comment makes it all far too confusing.
I've hardly even looked at the forum for about three weeks as I've not been well and I'm now at least a zillion comps behind. If I spend all day entering them and adding thanks messages, feel free to strangle me......
Oooh don't get me started on people that 'expect' thanks in their sigs:rotfl:
I think it's mainly newbies that do that;)Darren0
