If I'm googling I usually enter something that you'd find in the text like 'fantastic prize draw', or 'closing date for entries'. Just have a look at the wording they use next time you enter a comp and try a search with it. Saying that though I only find a few, the amount Kipper or fluffynit bring in I have no idea how they do it. lolI've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -

This is getting ridiculous, Posted here is short precise and to the point. If I spot that it is a newbie poster for a comp, then fine, might add a bit more, but no way am I, and I hope others, going to spend extra time typing more out than needs.
This is getting to be a bit like the people at a meeting who want to order the volunteers around ~ sorry its not on .
I'm sorry if this post is blunt, but it has to be said. I know I don't post a huge amount of comps, but I want to keep the time to the minimum that I spend doing it.
What are you trying to do collapse the goodwill and generosity of the people who do the posting?0 -
i dont get offended when i get a posted here follow up , i just think oh well its not a big dealmy name is Kit and im addicted to competitions , the what if is my driving force

I usually google the closing date and add the year.0 -

I think If a comp has already been posted, we should reply something like 'While We appreciate your effort, this competition has already been posted here' - It shows both thanks for posting, and also advises them that It has been posted before...It comes across less agressive than replying with 'Posted HERE'
Putting Posted HERE is quick and to the point and if people take offence at it then so be it... we are only giving people a warning that they may have already entered the competition, I always put a littlenext to mine to show there is no malice intended by the post... a whole paragraph is not necessary to get the point across, we all know how rubbish the search engine can be at times anyway, I've had many a posted here under my threads and as kit34 said, its a case of oh well never mind, there may have been some that haven't seen it

I'm grateful to the posters that point out when something has already been posted. I think that 'Posted here' is fine. Posted HERE looks a bit like shouting but still gets the point across
I've noticed that when I go to 'search this forum' now, it says that it only includes posts posted in the last week which is a bit of a pain as then a full forum search has to be done. Still it's great on here loads of comps and loads of new people and actually we aren't doing too bad for duplicate posts.0 -

I think we all do very well. Most of the posters on here have busy lives, fitting their contributions to the site in around families and work. It is really good to see the number of posters growing and I do think we make an effort to make newbies feel welcome.0 -
Im new to this board and as I did competitions about 12/14 years ago with some success I was hoping to revive the habit:D
My question is about Take A Break. I used to do this regularly every single week (pre kids) but no success.
Has anyone ever won anything from there or know of anyone that has? If so, I now have spare time on my hands and would like to get into comping again.
Will also enter comps on here that people are kind enough to post.
Thanks for info in anticipation.
