    Good afternoon everyone,

Shez - im loving the new Colin avy, and Donny (he is getting on my nerves already!!!) used to go out with one of Bob Geldoffs daughters, Peaches i think and is meant to be in a group.

ccstar - ive heard that we are due really bad weather soon, low temps and maybe blizzards by Feb - although where we are, we dont seem to get much snow, much to DS and DDs disapointment!!!!

All this talk of the mini meet really makes me want to come, but would have to bring my 2 with me. They would love a trip to London, but not sure how much the train prices would be, might have a look tho, and see if it is feasable.

Well, been busy so far today, 2 loads done in the WM and hung up, kitchen floor swept, bathroom and toilet done, pizza dough making in the BM and a lovely smelling banana loaf cooking in the oven!!!! Just need to wash my hair (still no shower so doing it over the sink!!) and finish sorting the drawers in the kitchen. Luckily the older ones have been playing with the little one, so ive had chance to do all these bits i dont normally get chance to do.
Right, better crack on, want to do my hair while all the children are happy!!

    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ccstar its maybe just us getting the snow, i am in scotland, the forecast isnt always right but i suppose we will get some before winter is out, at least we have tesco delivery now so dont have to worry about shopping, dont think we have ever had a power cut that has lasted so long, i wouldnt like that not being on my own, anyway the sun is shining here just now, am off to defrost the freezer and see what i have lurking in the bottom
I am in central Scotland, and got caught by the winds at new year. Are you located in the Highlands? We hardly get any snow. Snow is pretty but horrible when it is disruptive.

I used to visit Bognor as a kid, my father used to live there as a child, so he would visit to reminisce. I haven't been there for a while now. I do remember seeing Butlins but never been inside.

We have been eating creme eggs for the last couple of days now.... Everytime my lovely lad goes to the corner shop for supplies (yes, we are finally letting him go out on his own, but it's ok I can see the shop from the window) he comes back with creme eggs (sure I asked for bread and milk... ) Think he feels obliged to spend the change... As he feels so proud of himself for going I hate to put a dampner on things:rotfl:

What is it about spots on noses today? I have a gi-normous one that is making my face throb:( At 42 I thought I had outgrown them:p

It's taking FOREVER to take the decorations off the tree and even longer to extract them from the cat.

Gotta run... my young man is just back from the shop with the eggs I needed for lunch... sure I said half a dozen medium eggs... oh well guess 4 creme eggs will do:EasterBun

  • Hi all!! :hello:

Wanted to post today as very very chuffed!! Bought a chicken like we normally do, was £3. And cut it up so we got chicken pieces, great as always. And then we freeze these. WELL I put the carcass in the slow cooker with 3 litres of water, potato peelings, carrot peelings, half a manky lemon, few herbs, bit of tomato puree, and the top and bottom of an onion along with the skin. Cooked it and then reduced it AND I am eating my chicken soup now!!! is lush!!!!!!! It's the first time it has ever worked!!! :j

AND I'm getting better at picking up reduced items! Managed to get 3 loaves of bread worth £1.10 each for 10p each!!!!! Just by asking them as the date on them was today could I have a reduction!!!!! :D

 Belated Happy New Year wishes to you all. Gosh - i can't believe it is the 5th and i've only just got back to the daily thread. I haven't been online much actually, and when i have, the boards have been down or ... s l o w.

I've not been up to anything exciting. I've had a cold and chesty cough, so i've stopped at home, which is really lucky as the nephews have come down with chicken pox, and no doubt Charlie would have caught it if we'd been round, and i think he's a bit little at 11 weeks old for that. It does mean i've done well at demolishing the xmas chocs. God knows how, but i've actually lost 2 punds over xmas. I wish i'd discovered breastfeeding as a diet years ago. :rotfl:

The highlight of my week was my visit to baby clinic and the supermarket this morning. The little piglet now weighs 13pounds eight oz, so no wonder my back is starting to ache.

It's lovely to see the threads showing everyone determined to make their lives better in 2007. Personally, i've been thinking about trying to live as frugally as possible, so that we can try not to touch our savings while i'm on maternity leave, as me and DH would like to buy a bigger house in the not too distant future. We've only been here 2.5 years and already feel like we've outgrown it, particularly now we've seen how much space the baby takes up. As i always say, we work much better when we have a challenge to work towards, and as we'd also like to have another baby in the next few years, i'd best keep reading these threads to work out how to do it.

    Sorry - i'm now rambling.

Missed you all - hugs all round, and hoping you all fulfill your dreams this year.

    Michelle, xx

    Hello one and all!
All well here today and hip hip hooray it's Friday:j
OS today so far has been linen and towel changing, dark wash, general tidy up, sink and loo cleaned and a trip to Mr T awaits me when I get home [it was sooo much quicker doing the shopping list last night not having to wrack my tiny brain for a weekly menu] Was dead chuffed this morning as managed to pick up half priced savoury nibbles from Wilkifor the small person's lunches for the forthcoming weeks. That should improve the pin money coffers!
Am off to do a rekkie tomorrow to check out possible candidates for a new hall and stairs carpet and lino for the kitchen when we get round to doing it in the next few months. Also am planning to defrost the freezer [gorgeous]. Sunday weather permitting we're be off down to Arundel to do a family walk...we've made it a resolution to get out on a walk one Sunday a month. We'll take lunch with us so other than fuel should be a no spend day unless we happen to come across a cafe and I nag OH into submission.
Meanwhile OH will be continuing work on our freebie downstairs door...I managed to find suitable brass handles for it last weekend for half price in the charity shop. Blimey I'm turning into such a tightwad these days!!
All this talk of sorting out and decluttering has got me on a roll...have now got 2 large bags full for the charity shop and an upcoming jumble sale and during my frantic rummagings I came across a 2yo voucher for a local cook shop...I'm now the proud owner of loads of new cookie cutters and spent the rest of Easiyo sachets. I managed to wreck my attempt at banana yogurt [too busy pfaffing about doing other things so the water got too cold]. However, the small person informs me it makes fabulous banana milkshake:rotfl: :rotfl: Every cloud has a silver lining...
    Have a fabby weekend
