Just switched to Budget and looking forward to some good savings. One thing though, what's the easiest/quickest way of checking their prices against the other 2 to make sure I'm still saving?
All companies have their tariffs on their websites. And I'm pretty sure if there's a change in terms of whose the cheapest it will be posted here fairly sharpish. lol0 -
Got my bill through there, we are £12 odd in credit with BE. Now I need to read through the T&C's etc again to see about how they/we can alter the DD amount that they calculated if at all possible at this stage.
I too am interested to know how they calculated how many units to charge at what rate, I can't remember if I emailed / called in with a meter reading before the change over!Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34
Mortgage starting balance at Sept 09 - £127,224 on 30 year term. Currently balance approx £116,945 (Updated Jan '12)
Estimated MFD - [STRIKE]Sept 2039[/STRIKE], April 2031 (in progress!)0 -
Went to top up yesterday where I normally do & couldn't as they are no longer PayZone,so I had to top up online.Simple & easy to do plus, unlike the old NIE/PowerNI top up,BE send you an e-mail with your top up details for your records.0

If not then that means the minimum top up amount would be £10.
Is it just the outlet in your area or do you mean that Budget has stopped using the payzone method??
Although i usually top up online i felt assured by the payzone outlets, just in case i didnt have enough cash and needed to top up a fiver.
If this is the case i might just ring them and give them a peice of my mind.
Thanks0 -
I have a Budget Top Up card and a Firmus Gas one. I find that I have to do go to 2 different retailers in order to get them topped up. Bit of a nuisance to be honest, although in fairness both retailers are closeby. I know that I could do the Budget one online but I do actually prefer paying for electric and gas with cash on a weekly basis.0

Is it possible to change from Power NI keypad to Budget and start paying by DD?0

They don't actually offer Quarterly billing by single direct debit though which i prefer, never liked the idea of paying in advance for bills so will stay where i am for now till another provider can offer that.Budget also wanted a deposit even if paying by direct debit!0

Hey spike, just wondering... if they arent Payzone anymore what are they?...I mean can we buy electricity in shops perhaps if they are on the Paypoint system?

Hi Hazel,
Sorry I missed this post,Budget use Payzone to top up & they don't work with other methods like Pay Point or Post Office.According to Budgets website,my local newsagent was Payzone but they switched when they became a sub post office as well, which was well over 2 years ago.
At the moment the is no where in my town I can top up,so it's either by phone or online, which isn't much use if I've only got £9.99 in my account..
I fired off the E-Mail below;Hi,
Found yesterday that the Corner Newsagent is no longer Payzone either,so the are now no shops in my town where I can top up my electricity, which negates any savings I am making if I have to drive over to Bangor to top up.
You should really thing hard about switching to Pay Point,I cannot fathom why Budget decided to use Payzone which is hardly used anywhere.
Regards,
And got this reply;Hi Spike7451,
Thank you for letting us know - we will update our records accordingly.
Thanks & kind regards,0 -
