That was going to be my line! :rotfl:0 -
Don't stop to think about doing something, the second it occurs to you that you should do it: DO IT.
Also try mixing work and pleasure/excercise i.e. listening to music while doing research or using an exercise bike while revising.
If only I could follow my own advice ..."cool"0 -
This is not good. I was feeling guilty about procrastinating about a distance learning assignment that i do on my own schedule, and when I read here about people putting off their essays, I immediately felt better and thought 'Well, I could go and take a nap then...'
:wall:
No I CAN'T! This course is kicking my butt, and if I don't get the 10% bonus for doing the continuous assessment assignments, I won't pass the test in April! _pale_
If I wasn't so completely intimidated by trying to explain the system of judicial precedent in English law, I think I would be okay. That's the first question, and I keep skipping it and working on the others. But whenever I see that question, it freezes me in my tracks.Hi, I'm Mich

tell yourself you can have a nice reward if you do 10 minutes of whatever it is.
chances are you will do way more than 10 minutes cos you'll get into it or you'll realise once you've started that it's not that bad.
make sure you give yourself your reward (otherwise you won't believe yourself next time)Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!0 -
An example of what really pis!es me off about academic writing:
'Modern rationality is exemplified by the proliferation of large scale organizations, as really began around Weber's time.'
I'm sure it means something really simple, but why can't they just say it how it is? Is this a deliberate ploy to make me feel stupid? Having looked up each word separately, I'm still none the wiser. Is it any wonder that I avoid studying at all cost?0 -

:rotfl: I sympathize! How about this one "Meaning is context-bound, but context is boundless". That was a quote used as an exam question I had yesterday (Discuss etc. at the end). Hmm... difficult trying to break that one down!!0 -

Why do they do it????0
