Yes it's a through train from Swansea to Reading, but Wokingham is 1025 arrival
But I can't see your £31.60 fare at all - £39 is the cheapest still available that I can see0 -

In all honesty you might struggle to get anything too cheap because you'll be leaving London at peak hour, and Virgin are getting clever about trains not stopping at places like Rugby which facilitate split ticketing.
However, you'll probably gain by getting single tickets to Preston, then returns from Preston - Chorley, e.g.
0646 Euston - Preston arrives 0914, there's availability of Virgin Value Advance A @ £28
1249 Preston - Euston arrives 1528 (alt same timings an hour later), same £28 single fare.
It's then £3.70 each way Preston - Chorley.
Contrast with £227 for the standard return, or £45.50+61.90=£107.49 for the cheapest fare quoted if you try to book direct London-Chorley.
By the way, don't refer to Chorley as being in Manchester while you're there...won't go down well. It's Lancashire. Unless you consider e.g. Reading to be in London...I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0 -
hello everyone. just trying to get my head round this ticket splitting thing. but am at work and my heo keeps taking side glances at me
Need to go to Manchester from London. Any station in London but I think It's Euston it goes from.
One of us had a young persons railcard and I have a Annual season gold card so does that get me anything?
Many thanks.0 -

London-Manchester is a pretty cheap route, if you can book in advance and do not need any flexibility in the time you travel. Fares start from £12:50 each way, £8:25 each way with the young persons card but no discounts for the Gold card. To get these fares it is best to book ahead as soon as you can, although there is some availability tomorrow, also you must travel on the train you book.0
