Hi Nicholas,
The MSE team can read, we're very careful about the research we do. We had confirmation from the Carphone Warehouse press office in writing that "[FONT="]The standard out of bundle call charge is 8p per min and texts are 4p each".
We are re-checking this and will let you know.

It took me about 10 minutes to get my PAC from O2. They asked lots of security question like:
What was the amount of your last top up and by which top up method did you use?
What is your current balance?
What is the serial number on the back of the sim card?
He then asked other questions like:
Which network are you moving to?
Which tariff are you getting?
Do you know what is included in the tariff?
He then said
"I can see that you haven’t used your phone in 2 months, are you willing to pay £1 a month for something you will probably never use?"0 -

Thanks, this is prefect for me, as I currently spend around £5 per month PAYG, and it's just about the right number of texts and minutes for me. (I am a "granny in a glovebox" then ? lol)
I just ordered one on the phone no provided (0870 087 0870) without any problems, spoke to a very nice helpful carphonewarehouse person. I was told it will arrive tomorrow in the post - I asked about keeping my existing number, but was told I *couldn't* transfer my exisiting number. The direct debit did have to be approved - not sure if that is the same as a credit check?0 -
@Yabusame
"Just arranged to go onto the £1 per month 30 day rolling contract.
This contract gives 25 mins anytime, any network calls and 50 texts.
If you go over that allowance then phone calls will be charged at 31p per minute and texts will be 12p each."
Just checked the carphone website for over the allowance (sorry I can't post the link as I'm new):
it does say 2p (same network) or 4p (other network) per text, and 4p per minute (same network) or 8p per minute (different network/landline)
Not sure where you got your figures from, but I think you may be mistaken?0 -
Has anyone had cashback track on this yet either topcashcack or quidco? I would have thought it might qualify for the £10 from quidco for a sim only deal.0

Can anybody confirm either of these points? I'd like to keep my existing number. But I'm seriously considering ditching the number for this price. The credit check doesn't bother me too much but it'd be good to know exactly what they'll be doing
Will test the topcashback site with this later0
