*Zippy* a fresh start for 2007

I have successfully managed to avoid the DFW board for quite a few months now to avoid the guilt of knowing I was spending more than I should have been
I have been having quick looks for the last couple of weeks and can't wait to start again.
Firstly there are so many new faces on here, hello to everyone :hello: I am trying to catch up on all the news and get to know you all.
I hope no one minds another debt diary, but I want to really turn my life around in 2007.
A quick outline I had my lightbulb moment Oct 2005 and was really strict and managed to pay off about £8000 very quickly, in reality this wasn't managable long term as I had no allowance for extras and with 2 DD's there always seems to be money needed for something. I ended up having a spending splurge and not stoping. I have decided to look at it more long term and my goal is to be debt free in 30 months :j I took an extra job after my LB moment, but it was too much and I have finished one of them this week, this will give me less to throw at debts, but hopefully this can be made up by having more time to cook, ebay etc.
I think it all boils down to losing my pride in myself, home and finances they all seem to be linked as they all went down hill at the same time. Pre-debt I was a size 10, very house proud, and didn't have a thing on credit.
Goals For 2007
Lose weight, I am going to look at this one stone at a time rather than get depressed how much I need to lose.
Get my house looking lovely, I will start the fly lady challenge on OS as soon as kids go back to school.
Pay an extra £300 a month off debts a month, hopefully more if I start ebaying again
Permisson given for stern words and kicks up backside if I show any signs of falling off the wagon please

Welcome back and good luck with your goals for 2007. You will find lots of encouragement from the lovely folks on here.
Have you tried Freecycle for a Kenwood Chef? Seems like the sort of item people will have not used in a while (though I know some people - including my mother - swear by them).
This site lists all the UK groups

If flylady doenst sort you out nothing will
I dont know if you know but I wasnt well, my home went to ruin, and the whole situation was a loss of control. Flylady gave me my motivation back too. and made my gaff showhome style for selling. It is without doubt one of the best things Ive learned off MSE.
Best of luck
Lynz
x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Hubby gets given wine and champagne from work, not our thing so I asked my local supermarket if I could return it to put towards groceries and CS said yes, just rumaged through the kitchen cuboards and checked how much I could get on their website and its £75 :T0

Yeah.....good to see you back. Hope this sorting ourselves out isn't going to be too scary!
Great start with the £75. I've several boxes of chocolates left over that are going out as birthday presents in the coming weeks.
Good luck xxJanuary budget

Hi Zippy
Well done for making it back! I'm a relative newbie but am finding this place amazing for ideas and motivation - as well as for distracting me from the less interesting things that need doing!
New Year - fresh start. All the best with it.0 -
Good luck with these zippy. I am also trying to loose weight as I have had my light bulb on that one.0

Aaww Thank you for your lovely replies so glad I feel motivated again.
LJD1 you are doing so well, just read how much you have got done today :T
Prudent keep us posted how you are getting on, we still have loads of goodies left from xmas, hoping to start diet next week now
Mizimar I'm enjoying reading your posts it is very addictive isn't it! My job is very flexible luckily as there have been mornings I have been glued to MSE and ended up going in late.
Well a good start, Champagne went back today and they gave me cash...£75. I was expecting gift vouchers so a nice surprise.
Found out yesterday I have been accepted for a M&S CC. I can transfer my CC balance over now for a LOB 3.9%, old one was 15.9% so really pleased. All debt now under 6% interest.
Cleaning..
Going to start flylady properly tomorrow as my DD's are back in school, finally finished my extra job so need get myself into a routine now.
Sor far...I have cleaned and de-cluttered both daughter's rooms, the youngest ones was really bad as its tiny and she's a hoarder, but its looking really lovely, we are going to re-decorate both rooms soon so it will make it easier to do now. Started the utility room today after work, half done, should finish it [STRIKE]tomorrow[/STRIKE] later today...oops is that the time.
Well heres to a good money saving week everyone :beer:0 -
Glad you've had a good day. Great about the credit card and the payback on the booze. Just as well I don't live any closer or i'd have been round for that champagne! It's my youngest birthday tomorrow and i'll be in need of something strong by tomorrow night! OMG! Just realised that it's his birthday today! Happy birthday little man! I really ought to go to bed soon.
Good luck with the flylady challenge and catch up soon. xxJanuary budget
