i didn't really think of it as doing what i was told :o i don't generally let anyone tell me what to do, least of all my kids lol. i named everything when she started & most stuff has lasted, she's going into year 10 now & needs a new blazer, i guess it's been a gradual wearing down by her constantly moaning about the names being seen. maybe i'll just hide them somewhere just to make a point :p

But not somewhere so obscure the teachers dont know to look there! :D These have to write their names in stuff if the teachers cant see it.. they do spend so much time on a daily basis trying to pair up people and stuff.

Changing unit built.. dining chairs next.. the old ones are being collected later :D I cant wait! ROOOOOOOOOOOOM lol

Food scoffed.. still starved.. may go find more! OINK!!!

Off to reshuffle the furniture in the boys room next, and OH to build the bookcase for there so we can use the crates for the gibble they are permitted to keep.. DS3 has had hissy fits left right and centre today because I kept throwing out his rubbish! I love being evil :D

Afternoon everyone, yet again I went AWOL..ooops!

    651171i085p8my3i.gif to the newbies :)

Can't believe the mindless thugs from the riots managed to make their way to the Medway towns in Kent the other night. There is absolutely nothing there for them to loot or attack. Just mindless vandalism from them. Although to tell you the truth the attack in Rainham was just a little too close to home - we are the next stop on the train from there. I am hoping that they don't decide to come to Sittingbourne. Although most of our shops have closed anyway so it would be a pointless excercise to come here. It's just we have plenty of retail parks in this area as well as the huge Asda down the road. And I also worry about DH working in London and I always breathe a sigh of relief when he walks through the door at the moment. I find it absolutely mind numbing that our country is being held hostage, effectively, by these rioters. Have given up on watching Sky news now as I just want to throw something at the t.v. when the government and police just keep skirting around what they are going to do.

Vanilla honey, hope you are okay. Sending you plenty of hugs and coping vibes. :A
Max hugs sweetie, just being there for your friend is sometimes enough. I agree with the suggestion about sending a postcard or letter to her everyday then she will know you are there for her. Sometimes it is a natural reaction for us humans to isolate ourselves, like LW I too do this as I find interaction and keeping the "mask" on draining. Your friend maybe feeling that she can't burden her problems on you hence her keeping away.
dancemum hugs sweetie. And you are not stupid to feel like you do when you found out about your sisters family being treated differently to yours. Sending you lots of hugs xxx
euronorris glad your BIL is okay and that he is getting his operation earlier now. Hugs honey xx
embb frontline is also that much cheaper in the supermarkets. I paid £14.00 (I think) in Asda when I got my two cats their frontline. Even the nurse at the vets suggested we go to Asda instead of them.. Or you can try Petmeds.co.uk as Piggers suggested, we get our Drontal from there for the animals, as well as the dogs frontline and they are very good.

Hugs and love to everyone especially Toots, LW, LL and also Jojo and Rachel during the riots. Hope you are both okay and that things have calmed down. It looks like everything was quiet in your neck of the woods last night as everything kicked off further up the country.

Thanks Natty. I'm sure he will be OK, but this is the third op in 2 months, as they only thought there was one abcess at first, then they discovered another and now this last one. TBH, I think it has more to do with BIL's hygeine standards than anything else. Horrid as it is to say that. His flat is in need of a deep clean. Now that I've got into this flylady stuff, I'm not sure I will be able to resist tidying his place when we go to visit! lol

I worry more about how OH copes with it as well, as I can tell how upset and worried he is and I can't do anything to ease that, so I just try to be as nice and comforting as possible.

OK, seriously, I don't know how to descale a kettle. Can anyone help me please?

ETA: I have what they call 'schoonmaak azijn' (cleaning vinegar). Will that do it, mixed with some water?

I have also printed the change of details form, and copies of our passports to have me added to the tv/internet/phone bill. :D

euronorris yes you can use vinegar. Although we have either white or malt vinegar over here, never heard of cleaning vinegar. Do you have vinegar that you put on your chips over there? If you do then you can use that. Just cover the bottom of the kettle to just above the element, boil it a couple of times then deposit vinegar down sink. Fill kettle up with water and boil, empty water, refill kettle again two times and boil. This should then be okay for you to drink the water. Hope this helps xxx

Totally agree!! Especially with the supermarkets doing deals so everyone comes in with exactly the same stuff!

Going for a wander to the local shop now as I haven't been outside yet! Back later
