euronorris yes you can use vinegar. Although we have either white or malt vinegar over here, never heard of cleaning vinegar. Do you have vinegar that you put on your chips over there? If you do then you can use that. Just cover the bottom of the kettle to just above the element, boil it a couple of times then deposit vinegar down sink. Fill kettle up with water and boil, empty water, refill kettle again two times and boil. This should then be okay for you to drink the water. Hope this helps xxx

    Thank you.

They have white vinegar here, but not malt vinegar. Although, I do have malt vinegar indoors from the English shop and no white vinegar! lol (can't have chips without the malt stuff!)

The cleaning vinegar was recommended, along with cleaning salts to keep the washing machine in good order. Oh......I suppose I answered my own question there. If it keeps the limescale at bay for the washing machine, it should be fine for the kettle too.

TBH, it looks the same as white vinegar, and probably is.

Gonna give it a try tonight. Thanks xxx

Finally forced myself to clean the bathroom. Serious lack of GUAG today. That means all of upstairs has been deep cleaned since we got home from holiday (bathroom could do with a bit more work next week). Tomorrow I shall start with downstairs in the living room.

Out to Ask for DH birthday tonight so no dinner to cook. Got my voucher printed so shouldn't break the bank.

Thanks for the hugs and wise words ladies.
I have bought a nice 'thinking' of you card to send, and I have a stash of blank cards already here.

I've been working through my list but it hasn't really involved cleaning. it's all been making phone calls and dealing with paperwork.

I did test drive a car like wot I am going to buy. I've asked DH to find me a bargain.
Absolutely peeing down here and so cold. I've had the heating on but am about to turn it off before DH gets home. ha ha.

Ok - off for a mad half hour doing something useful.

Well it's been a busy day so far.

KH update is that he walked to the doctor (about 11/2 miles) as he rang the CPN who told him to be in at 12.30. I was to be in at 12 to leave in his meds. Of course i ran into him, with in 5 minutes his phone went 10 times from the 'friend'. I spoke to KH outside and just told him what i've aready told him. He was a mess as in dirty, and cuts over his head. I did give him a jacket he had in the car because he was just rotten looking. The CPN took KH himself to the hospital so thats where he is now. I've updated his parents and they've said they won't be down near him. I've said i'll drop down clothes and stuff for him but it will be a one off. I have no interest in spending any time with him.

Shopping wise me and my sister got most of the school stuff, a stick basket, new bedding, lampshade and wood for the curtain track, oh and some food..:rotfl:

    Flying wise i've done nothing.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

And you do as you are told? lol I dont think I could if I tried!

It is MORE important to name stuff in high school.. uniform is not compulsory at primary school... in high school you may have 2000 all with EXACTLY the same blazer.. if it isnt named you are either rich or insane! Mine lost stuff day 1 at high school had it not been named we would never have seen it again, we have also had games kits disappear which did turn up again evenually... 2 years later but in time to fit DD2. 2 fleeces a school coat and 3 jumpers all came back simply because I wrote their name in it... if they even thought to complain they woud be told when they are paying to replace the lost stuff then they can decide whether it is named or not.. as long as I pay it is my rules!.. I write names in before they are even given it! ;)

Unnamed uniform is the bane of teachers lives!
    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Seriously it takes us seconds to hand over named stuff - it's ALL identical, they never know what they've left, they almost all have the same sizes. 3 sweatshirts I had - all identical - no-one in my class 'thought' they were theirs...I asked them ALL to go home and ask at home (my phrase is mum or dad or whoever's at home ;)) and they all belonged to the same boy! Been on a speed awareness course:o

Vanilla I honestly think you can put Flying onto the back burner for the time being - as long as you and the children aren't living in squalor, I'd say cut yourself a good long length of slack for now.:o

I've just written two birthday cards for posting when we go to Mr T's; Mr LW just needs to sign them and seal them in their envelopes. He's called to say he's on his way home, so I'd better go and find my shopping list.:)

Dins tonight is pasta in cheese sauce - I've measured out the pasta and prepped the cheese, onion and tomato and left them in dishes, ready to use, so it should be quick to wallop it all together when we get in.;)

I have a dog-sitting cheque to bank, but won't be going into town til Monday, so it'll have to wait til then. Actually, that reminds me, I need to make a list of errands to do on Monday (Mr LW is wfh that day, so finishing early) or I'll forget something vital, you can bet your boots.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hi everyone :) I'm so busy flying today I've had no time to read through. It's our last day at this site so I've been cleaning everything and I've done several washer loads so all I need to wash when we go home is todays clothes. I've done all the bedding etc too. We're only home until Sunday morning so it just makes things easier as all the clothes for next week are already in the caravan clean now :) I've cleaned our BBQ grill thing which took almost an hour, needed a good clean tho.

Decided on a fish and chip supper as it's our last night and the fish shop in Leyburn is yummy! Hope you're all having a good day xx

PS thanks for the posts about woofs, reminded me I need to find ours vaccine certificates for next week and find a kennels for the day on Tuesdsay, best get that done
One day I might be more organised...........

Max when I was diagnosed I didn't want people coming round being sympathetic and sorry and looking at me like I was about to leave the planet. I had the same op and 6 years later I'm still here, but if it was to come back, I would react just the same again and shut everyone else out, I can't afford the head space for other peoples sympathy.

Vanilla thinking of you and sending postive vibes your way, you are doing so well, the only way is up :j

When my 2 were at school, we had a lady known behind her back as 'diesel fitter', at the end of term lost property was put out for parents to claim/collect, she would go round looking for stuff that would fit her kids, she kitted them out all through secondary school that way, so lable everything as I am sure our school is not the only one with a diesel fitter.

house cleanish and tidyish, thanks to flyladies.

Surveyor came to see if we can have free solar panels, we have to wait 6 weeks to find out if we can
