Max when I was diagnosed I didn't want people coming round being sympathetic and sorry and looking at me like I was about to leave the planet. I had the same op and 6 years later I'm still here, but if it was to come back, I would react just the same again and shut everyone else out, I can't afford the head space for other peoples sympathy.

Thanks shelley sue - I hear what you're saying but it' s hard when you care about someone you've been friends with for 40+ years.

I have managed to tidy the kitchen, but that's all. I need to get changed now and go out.
DH isn't home and I haven't eaten, so i will have to live off my fat (there's plenty) and get something later

Back to work tomorrow, so I can see come Friday night I will have a COMPLETE set of lists to do. Ho hum  BUT I think small affordable - pay cash - car has been identified so that's a result. :D

Mmmm. Well looks like a number of items on my Toots list have just become urgent - due to DH melting lead in the kitchen and burning a hole in the floor. At least I won't feel guilty at asking him to pay for it :rotfl::rotfl: As we can't get new floor before plastering ceiling in kitchen, and that requires plastering hall, and painting, and re-flooring both bathrooms (why get someone out to do one room when they will offer a discount for 3) :D:D:D Now I just have to try and find someone prepared to do the 'small job' and avoid piggers problems.

Bargainhunterss - don't pay the bill till you get it back. Just tell them it's missing and has sentimental value. Although it may be that you didn't get it back because it broke... I have a stash of cheap plain white mugs for workmen/children/clumsy friends ;)

I've emailed the bathroom people to tell them I'm still not happy with the state of the patio, and I'm certainly not paying them until it is done... I'm also getting a quote from someone else so if they don't do it properly I know how much to take off the bill.

Haven't got far with the cleanup. I have no energy (probably due to lack of exercise as much as anything) and the state of the house is depressing me. OH is coming over tomorrow to check up on me, so hopefully I'll remember to be nice to him instead of grumpy. And my dad is coming on Sunday to help get things sorted out.

I did find the energy to strip my bed, but don't have enough to remake it. And laundry is on hold until the airing cupboard is clean. I have hoovered the landing, stairs and some of the hall. I hope to do a bit more before OH arrives tomorrow.

Hopefully it will be sunny on Friday so when froddy comes over we can sit outside so she doesn't have too much opportunity to see the squalor! Although obviously she'll have to admire the new bathroom...

I'd still have to get Mr LW to drive me up to the bank, though.:o It's not a problem, it's only a few days to wait, and I have at least another 4 errands in town on Monday, so it's just as easy to pop into N/West and use the paying in machine then. :o

Mr T's was 'orrible... no wheelchair trolleys available, so Mr LW pushed a normal trolley while I self-propelled the chariot. I left him behind several times, cos I wanted to get out of there!:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
