You can be deemed responsible below 16 to be treated if a Doctor thinks you are mature enough. Its how under-16s can be on the pill unknown to mum n dad.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -

If a child under 16 is deemed to be fully aware of what she is consenting to then parental permission is not needed. She will probably be asked if she thought that telling an adult would be possible but not complsory.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

At 18 the girl can only live how she wishes. If she takes advice then all well and good.
Your friend can only advise her towards the obvious strict/long term contraception inc condoms and regular STI checks if needs be.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

it was none of the mothers business until the daughter blurted it out...and as a shocked and caring parent, she is seeking help to deal with the issue.....not rocket science!0 -
I find it hard to believe thay someone who goes to Cambridge Universoty would be that dumb. Is paying for her tuition fees as a part time prostitute?0

I think a discussion regards the matter and contraception when both mum and daughter have calmed down would be more constructive. A tern lecture would perhaps aggravate an already feisty situation0 -

How is it unhelpful? I'm just questioning this story. I mean, yes these things can happen although it is unlikely. So you have to ask questions, maybe the daughter has become a junkie or something, all that Cambridge University pressure and all. Best to check into it.0
