I was in Asda the other day and asked how much it was to preorder. She said you don't pay now, they give you a reciept and you pay when you collect! how you supposed to know if you're getting a good deal?? Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

No point trying to find the cheapest price for COD:MW3.
Gameplay from the Alpha Invite test week. Don't think many people will be bothering with MW3
wait till about the week before then you will know what supermarket is doing what. I reserved a copy at Sainsburys last time. £30 i think , but i had to do my weekly shop to get that price. pointless reserving at my large Sainsburys , 100's and 100's on the shelf when I walked in at 6am after midnight release.
MW 3 does need to hit a far higher mark than crummy Black ops. Sold my Black Ops 4 hours after buying it. Still playing MW2 even now.
Hopefully MW3 can be to 2011 what MW2 was to 2009.
If not Battlefield 3 does look very tempting on the evidence of that trailer. If Battlefield can gain the high ground it can only be good for FPS fans as Activision will have go the extra mile to get their crown back.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
BF does look very tempting, but ultimately the thing is you can't tell until it's out, wouldn't be the first game where the trailers & spots have made it look awesome only for it to turn out to be absolute shovelware, trailers are also pre-rendered videos as opposed to inplay footage - so i'm always slightly wary of them until i get a hands on! EA as well, i know previous BF games have been good, but EA's record with shooters can be a bit sketchy.
As for prices, about a week before we'll start to see what's happening with them, it's still far too early, supermarkets may chose to aggresively loss-lead on it again but the games market is significantly weaker now than it was last year, so they'll possibly decide to "make a little bit" off MW3 knowing it'll sell as much at £40 as it will at £30. Incidentally we all know that looks cheap, but you do pay the extra tenner on your shopping, maybe not straight away but every customer (including those who have no gaming intentions) pays for it. With Tesco & Asda now also doing trade ins look towards one of two styles of "incentive" either a heavy trade reliant deal OR a deal where you get it for £30 if you pre-order something else - that's what they did with Deus Ex, the only thing is MW3 will probably be towards the back end of the pre-christmas release slate, so it'll likely be pre-order for Pro Evo/Need For Speed/Elder Scrolls Skyrim.
Either way it goes, i'll keep an eye on https://www.mcvuk.com since it's the games retail industry "mag" they'll normally have a full rundown - although expect them to look unfavourably on the Supermarket pricing shenanigans given the stress it puts on the games shops!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

I no longer buy/pre order new games now, they are simply not worth the money, too short and sometimes don't come up to the hype they get.
I will wait and sell my Black Ops and buy a used copy of MW3.You live..You learn.:)0 -
Bump!!!
The dilemma I have is whether or not to go for the Hardened Edition!!
The supermarkets are guaranteed to have thousands of copies so it would be easy to target the cheapest store at midnight after each of the big names show their cards...
But- in my opinion few if any of the supermarkets will sell the hardended edtion- so it might be difficult getting it on release night.
I dont fancy queuing outside game or gamestation for an hour at midnight with all the underage kids!!!0 -
any one no the best place to buy this yet it's for my son so kinda have to get it and dont wanna pay 43 pounds thanks

Not true, thought the same with FIFA 12 last year managed to get 11 for £28 on release day, this year, no one below £42 except if you bought something else with it and obviously if you dont need the something else wast of time.
Think game developers are begining to exploit there hold on the market.0
