Latest correspondance via enotes:ebuyer wrote:Dear Mr XXX,
Thank you for your reply and may I take this opportunity to offer my apologies for my delay in response to this.
As previously advised I must refer you back to our previous statement as this is our position on this matter and we have nothing further which we wish to add, and as so I am unable to comment further.
With reference to the letter you have advised of, usually correspondence received is forward into our department and as of yet we are not in receipt of your letter.
We once again offer our apologies.
Kind Regards,
XXX
Ebuyer Customer Resolution Team.
this is despite the fact the letter was received by them 1 week ago according to royal mails track and trace. I bet they just chucked it in the bin0 -
Had a reply from them yesterday, I'm after the name and address of the owner so I can pursue legal procedings and they will tell me, just keep refering me back to the email where they say contact trading standards or a solicitor.
Time for me to chase up trading standards to see if that meeting between ebuyer and sheffield trading standards has taken place yet.Welcome, rogerramjet.

You mean that your T.S. are interested? Mine don't seem inclined to pursue them but are more than happy for me to sue them for loss of bargain. If my website broke the rules like ebuyers does they would be down on me like a ton of bricks.Down south where, unfortunately, the government does remember us.0

Well, last time I talked to them I was told that a meeting was arranged between Sheffiled TS and Ebuyer, I've been away for a few days (as I'd expect trading standards to have been) so I'll be ringing them later to find out what's happening.
Wouldn't like to think someone in TS is getting a free TV so they can whitewash this fiasco of Ebuyers
They are still refusing to give me the name and address of the owner by the way which I find really odd.Welcome, rogerramjet.

Ok peeps...been a little busy recently and forgot to chase trading standards. I'm going to ring them tomorrow and ask where the situaltion lies with regard to this. I'm more than prepared to waste a few quid taking them through the small claims court so I'll post tomorrow what I've been informed by TS.Welcome, rogerramjet.

They cancelled them all, breached their own T&C and basically will not respond to emails regarding queries.
I'm surprised Watchdog, Trading Standards, etc haven't taken it further as they are basically sticking two fingers up to all consumer legislation.
Trading Standards I've spoken to have confirmed Ebuyer have breached their own T&C, but seem unwilling to pursue them legally (when I last spoke to them).
The long and the short of it is basically, if your a company and can afford to stomp on the little guy (who cannot afford usually) then the consumer laws in the UK are not worth the paper they were originally printed on.
If people get the TV (I include myself) is now superficial when compared to the bigger picture of large corporations "buying" themselves out of their difficulties because of their own imcompetance in ensuring their T&C's and online facilites are adequate.
it appears to me that the consumer has been totally ignored on this occasion by those empowered to deal with this fiasco even though many many complaints of their breach of contract have been reported formally.Welcome, rogerramjet.

Had a response from Trading Standards.....Basically the local Trading Standards branch (Sheffiled) met with Ebuyer personel and Ebuyers' Solicitor. Ebuyer stated they will vigourously defend any claim made against them because their T&C gives them the option to cancel if pricing errors occur.
Trading Standards are not pursuing legal action against Ebuyer, but have advised them to improve thier service!!!.....the person I spoke to went on to say problems occur with developing companies and was surprised when I said they were not a new internet company.
I find it a shame that Ebuyer, being so well known to Sheffield Trading Standards have yet again been let off the hookWelcome, rogerramjet.

Not really read into this as such, but guessing you are moaning and feeling hard done by that you never got this telly for £33?
Apologies if wrong but if thats the case then is this really what MSE stands for?
Errors get made off course but come on, what do you want, companies losing money left right and centre just to keep you happy and make sure you get a product for nowhere near the retail value.
Mad if you ask me!0
