They use either citylink or the royal mail (depending on size/cost/urgency of item).0

Every time I log on to GIWYC, I think to myself "theyre not still going on about that are they?"
PS If the OP had ordered and kept quiet (ie they didnt get 200 orders in one evening), do you think he would have got his TV?0 -

amit_1's Trading Standards letter is very interesting. It's also interesting that different Trading Standards are issuing different advice.
It'll be interesting to see what ebuyer say to them.
@amit_1 - is there any chance you could post the email address you've got for that Trading Standards - it's just rather than going through my local one who will only eventually pass if on to them.
I reckon ebuyer are actually a little bit worried about this. I've never seen enotes receiving a response so quickly and i've used them on and off for years (only with items that i'm in absolutely no rush for though - since they don't mind sending the wrong thing then trying to force you to pay the return postage and similar dodgy trading practices.)
sure e-mail address is Phil.Glaves@sheffield.gov.uk0 -
bs7 wrote:That is a VERY good example. I personally would sell the TV at the price (although i can't help but wonder at your flawed logic - surely a better selling price would have been £30 or £40 rather than £10 - that might have made your point a little better than your poor attempt at exageration).
I've quite a good feedback rating on ebay and have in the past sold things for a lot less than they are worth in order to maintain my 100% 'record'. Also i cannot expect buyers to pay promptly and keep to their side of the contract if i do not myself. But that's the difference between me and ebuyer - i care about customer service and people's opinion of me and i respect and adhere to the law (of contract).
I think it is this that has annoyed a lot of 'us' and the reason why some of us don't feel that ebuyer deserve any leniency.
I'll ask you a question - if a £30 item had been put up at £300 by "mistake" and someone purchased the item believing it to be good value, do you think ebuyer would be so willing to argue that there was no contract? I'll bet you they'd keep very quiet about it and never mention the fact that there was an error.
I respect that you may have a differing opinion but i think your tone is more in keeping with your "playground" analogy. Indeed, "Jason" you're sniveling "A message to Martin and board monitor" seems a bit like you're a tell-tale. If you disagree, just disagree, there is no need to try and insult people.
We live in a free-market economy which means ebuyer have the right to breach a contract BUT there are consequences for the breach. Companies seem to forget that because of consumers like you, consumers that are unwilling to exercise their rights, consumers that will let companies simply take the mickey and flout the law.
Furthermore, i very much doubt the "mistake" and "error" were ever the creation of a single mistyped price. If that really is the case (which i find very difficult to believe) then there are seriously flaws with their system and they didn't take any precautions against this and it's their own fault for being so negligent. If it was a computer glitch then they could have insured against it. Either way - ebuyer haven't learn their mistakes from the past (this isn't the first time they've done this - although the last time they did offer free postage with the next order as compensation) and the only way i see them ever taking any notice is if people keep pressure on them.
Very Very well said m8.
I think what that lewis guy and people like him fail to see is this is beyond trying to score a cheap TV, although i wont deny that it be nice. But the point is ebuyer has time and time again screwed their customers silly, disregarding their customers opinion and satisfaction and the only way for them to change and finally recognise that they cannot toll with the law is if we the consumers stand up to them and with this TV situation you can consider it our ACE.
I agree that if they dont mind, some of our more literate members should draft up a letter and we can all copy and paste and flood eBuyer, Trading Standards, Watchdog with letters.0 -

take a screen dump what liars ebyer are saying that they have no stock0

No need cos that the one that ebuyers will produce in Court to show it was such an obvious pricing error. That said - how can one prove the date anyone?
There are definitely trying to get their act together now ready for any litigation.0 -
if a screen capture/print screen is taken it will show in the properties the time and date. It will also show if the item has been modified and give the time and date of modification.
Just emailed Trading Standards....they are not going to like me....775 word response to them...and that was the shortened versionWelcome, rogerramjet.

For some reason ebuyer have put another credit into my account for £39 odds.
They have now taken the money out - repaid it - then repaid it again.
Is this some kind of compensation?
Or is it another error? You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0
