I agree about the pictures and the house is ugly outside, but could be made very nice inside. Loads of original features.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

The rest of the houses in the street all look far nicer which just adds to the potential of this one.

Euch...never mind the piccies....that house would give me nightmares. Definitely the type of place you either love or hate. Make that a "hate it" in my case.

Must drink a lot of tea ...

Given it's the Forest of Dean, I think they might be cider jugs. (My family's from there, my uncle used to make cider so strong you were over the legal limit on half a pint!)

Oh this could be made so wonderful! If I win the lotto this week I might have a serious think about this one.

    Where is Axbridge?

...in Somerset - not too far from Cheddar, with Weston Super Mare on the coast side.

I'd be thinking about the Grade II listing and possible disadvantages if windows needed replacing or roofing work required. I've known conservation officers insist that certain types of material are used - which often turns out expensive.

Me - I wouldn't like a property that faced directly onto the street :(

Thank you. Well, if my usual record on the lotto is anything to go by, I don't think it's much of a worry. Mind you, I didn't see it was listed, that would put me off.

    ooh, cheddar though, lovely cheeeeeeeese:D

How can a house so ugly on the outside have such beautiful potential inside lol

Yeah, the photos aren't good at all...but wowzer at that ceiling!Does seem to be bowed in places though

    Ugly? I think it's handsome :p:D

You guys obviously wouldn't like our house then, which looks strangely similar with it's grey stone facade - although it has a thatched roof which does *soften* the look a bit, LOL ;)

The Grade 2 listing would put me off too though......we've owned six period properties and *fortunately* none have been listed - even the Tudor one that somehow slipped through the net. When we last moved we nearly bought a listed house but it needed soooooo much work we thought the restrictions might actually hamper our plans to restore it to its former glory - you often hear of the CO saying you have to keep more modern features that were in place at the time of listing - that wouldn't appeal to me :(
