I would be wondering just how many times I would bang my head - except it literally wouldnt be possible to make the bed or read in bed even. Nope - whatever way you look at it...that "bed" is a joke bad enough to see whether it infringes something like the Trade Description Act. Might do as a bed for a cat or a small dog - but definitely not for a human being.
Not as a gift territory

If you were a Chinese migrant, part of the world's largest ever migration by a factor of about X 100, migrating from the countryside to the mega city, that flat would be luxury, even for a legal migrant.
You might even be able to send for the kid being cared for my its grandmother, in due course.0 -

Presumably the garden covered with corrugated iron belongs to next door?
What is happening?
It was Slough that checked the census against the sewage to prove the census wrong.0 -

As in, you mean that the census said Slough has a certain number of people but an analysis of the sewage produced by the place proved there must be an awful lot more people living there (just by waste product produced) than it would appear??0 -

I love the way that the photo of Bed 3 shows how copious condensation has run down the Velux.
Must've had some sweaty times in there, eh?0 -

Yes - they also analysed the contents & weight of the "dust" bins.
[The term "dust" dating back to the days when everyone incinerated their garbage before arranging for it to be taken away.]
In Dickensian times the "dust" was a valuable raw material for use by the brick-fields, being the product of inefficient heating and cooking systems, contained enough "coke" to make the bricks partially self firing. Somewhere I have the recipe for the production of the yellow London stock brick, invented in Faversham (Kent) some time circa 1770.
I don't know what sort of sewage processing occurs in Slough, but my local (smelly) sewage works sieves/screens the incoming fluid to remove solid objects that don't rot or pulverise and then allows it to settle (while extracting some methane) putting the settling faction into GIANT tea bags. These are then squashed in a manner similar to making cyder (if you have seen that being done) to produce a de-watered solid similar to tea leaves for spreading on local fields.
Here is a low capital version of the idea.

Not really it is intermittently heated by full cost electricity, probably never ventilated, it is at the top of the stairs, probably with the door left ajar, where else is the condensation going to go to find a cold surface.0 -

Must've had some sweaty times in there, eh?.. anyway when i come to think of it, i know i said that pic 4 would not be a deciding factor in buying, when you couple it with pic 14, then it would be hard to resist buying..how could i miss out on buying a place that has taps and a lamp post..it is so unfair of the E.A to use these dirty tactics to sell a below run of the mill house.from now on, i will steer clear of any house with pics of taps and lamp posts, it will save the heartache;)
