Pic 5 - that's in their living room
I'm intrigued.
How can a house that big have no front door?
As I see it, one can enter through the kitchen or the side doors of the 'family room' which looks like an aircraft hangar. *confused face* Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Haha, I hadn't noticed that. I bet they love watching befuddled delivery drivers searching for the door - I know I would0

Stunning house though - definite potential there. Just needs a bit of re-jig to the layout.0

Will need to hide this from my partner or he will want to move . . . He dreams of a full size snooker table  but is only allowed one in the garage, which is apparently to cold for the slate and when he mentioned ironing it, it went on the banned list. . . . I hate ironing :cool:Well Behaved women seldom make history

Yes you can get away with a fold up aluminium ping pong table out of doors, but I have yet to see an outdoor game of snooker ?0

So that must be what they mean by "depersonalise"...get rid of the buyers first thought of "How much will I have to pay workmen to get that ceiling back to normal?"0 -

The house is OK, but the neighbours and the road make me somewhat less "stunned!"0 -

I've been mulling this last house over. The more I look at the floor plan the more I could make this work for me.
My husband is currently in a nursing home and I would love to bring him home, but .......it's finding the right house to make it all work.
This house would be perfect because I could re-configure that huge lounge, knock down a couple of walls, shunt things around and make it open plan and wheel chair friendly.
We need space and lots of it and this one actually fits the bill.
It's just a pity it's no-where near me:(. I would snap it up in a heart beat.
Anyway thanks OneYorkshireLass for posting that because it has given me some great ideas and will help me in my search.0 -
lessonlearned wrote: »Re - hot conservatories.
Rather than expensive blinds I made retractable "sails" which just slot onto the beams of the roof for my mum and dad's conservatory. Basically some light coloured canvas with large brass rings sewn on, which attach to hooks on the beams. Very MSE. You could use those brass ring punch kit thingies - sorry no idea what they are called.
My parents chose cream to reflect the sun back and make it even cooler but a smart blue and white stripe would look good and give a jaunty "nautical" look.
Re the fancy house - sorry no good at doing links.
It looks like a mini Versailles:rotfl::rotfl: Delusions of grandeur obviously.
Just goes to show - money can't buy good taste or style.
We fitted these solar blinds to the inside of the roof panels and it certainly took out the intense glare that we had, at times it was so much so that we had to leave the room totally.
They need two people to fit them to the sloping panels and can be put on just with the adhesive that is on as peel back, then if you wanted to they are easily removed.
Hope that this link may help you...
