It's what you do isn't it, when the EA tells you it's listed you check to see what it looks like online.
It's no longer listed on the Allen & Harris website. It takes a day or so for Zoopla and Rightmove to update.
It wasn't on the A&H website earlier either before I posted on here. I think they may still need to put it on (hopefully minus this photo!).0 -
I certainly wouldn't want all my neighbours and colleagues discussing my bank balance and festive spends.:o.
Last year the crows opened a bin bag early on collection day and some of the contents blew into my garden. Among them was a letter from a bank, admonishing one of their customers for going well beyond htheir already high overdraft limit and demanding rapid repayment......
It was a local dignitary.
I think this was an ID proof blunder.0 -
Prudent I think you are really kind trying to contact the owner. I would definitely want to know if that was me.
Above anything else though, I would be wanting to know what the agents were doing going around peoples' houses taking photos of their bank statements. I wonder if they have done it in other houses but not been stupid enough to upload the photos.
It should be easy enough to identify the perpetrator given that they kindly posted a picture of their own fingers. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

The offending bank statement (with offending fingers) has just disappeared from rightmove, zoopla and primelocation.0

I'm surprised the advert is still up. If I was the vendors I'd have wiped the floor with the agents and told them to remove the whole advert in case they got any interest and therefore required their fee.0 -
Thank you both
I am glad for the vendor's sake it was removed. I tried phoning him a few times early evening, but there was no answer. I hope he did get a chance to see it though and that it hasn't just been the case that a rightmove/ Allen & Harris employee saw this thread. I will try and contact him again today and see if he would like the screenshots. I would think the least the agent could do would be to sell the house for free.

Don't know what Prudent said on her ansafone message she left for the vendor. In my ansafone message I directed the vendor straight to this thread and the RightMove website.
Guess the vendor has now picked up his messages and blown a gasket at the estate agent - though it could be the case that that estate agent has still got "stinging eyes" from reading their email...I think the priority was to have that photo removed as fast as possible (with or without the vendor yet being aware).
I expect the vendor will come and read this thread if he hasnt done so yet and will see that he has offers of giving him any evidence he needs to get this sorted out - but would be just as well Prudent if you keep trying to phone him to explain in person what it says here.0 -
The estate agents have a duty to carry out money laundering checks if they are giving financial advice. So, there's nothing sinister in them having photographed the bank statement. They probably photographed a utility bill, too.
Of course, it was damn stoopid of them to upload the info to the www, but clearly done inadvertently. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Point taken re those modern day requirements aka money laundering checks - but I would have thought they could take photocopies of them and not photographs.
I'm glad I presumably won't need those checks then, as I don't require any financial advice/mortgage/etc when buying my next house. <whew smilie>
Just goes to confirm how many estate agents do their particulars "in a rush", rather than proof-reading them carefully.
Brings up an idea for a thread on here about "worst prepared vendor" if anyone wants to start one....LOL....wanders off to check everything is pin-neat and "ready for my photo now please Mr DeVille (or whatever-the-name-was)" as mine will be in tomorrow doing my house description/photos. If anyone wonders why on earth someone would be out in their backyard sweeping away any trace of snow that turns up overnight - it's me making sure my outside photos don't "date"..0
