It's a sign of the silliness of our times that you are sniggering at two perfectly functional, if dated, kitchens and bathrooms. They were the height of fashion of their day, and they were well enough built to have lasted. Just think, as you install your fashionable new bathroom, how people will snigger at it in 20 years time - if it has not fallen to pieces before then.

I've always said that i'd rather have well looked after, good quality stuff, than get something cheap just because it was more modern.

Re the Hackney one - no offence with my comments to the developer. They have done a huge amount of work and to be fair it looks lovely inside. I appreciate that they bought it at auction and will have spent a lot, but I suspect that's still going to be a pretty decent salary for a year's work. :)

But it's on a main road (red lines outside) and next to what is effectively a kebab shop. Guess it might appeal to someone who goes out themself every Fri/Sat night and isn't bothered by the noise of revellers outside getting munchies on their way home.

In the 2nd link, pic 3, the could've really been done with having some antimacassars.

Now there's a word you don't hear often nowadays. :D

You are so right!! I have a sage (paler than avocado) bathroom suite and although we have replaced the tiles and taps my husband won't replace the suite because the quality is amazing, met the guy who installed it in '79 recently!!
    Slightly bitter

My downstairs loo is an original 77 model. It's aqua coloured, and still has the original aqua seat. In our last house I must've bought about 4 loo seats, yet this one is still going, 35 years later!

Interesting wallpaper design! A bit 'art deco'...kind of. But in a victorian style house.

Who in their right mind would pay £275k for this?!

End-terrace, next door to a burger shop. Mmmm, that'll smell lovely of an evening.

Love the fact it's being marketed for 3x the price it was bought for a year ago.

Price is less shocking than the "journalist" putting "it's own front door"

Am I right in thinking that this is a detached property, and one of the garages is your own, and the other 3 belong to your neighbour?

I really don't like how some developers try to squeeze as much profit as they can onto a small plot. It's a nice property inside but it just seems wrong.

A friend of mine has a detached house with a detached double garage which is all theirs - but someone else lives in a flat over the garages. Not my kind of thing - but she doesn't seem to mind.

That's really weird! I could understand if it was like a guest house or a place to put the teenagers and it belonged to the owner of the house. It must be pretty complicated regarding the deeds - is that what they call a floating something or other (brain dead tonight! lol )
