Never seen such badly designed bathrooms - all of them. Money sure can't buy you style.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I think that looks like someone bought that house when built and has never updated anything. It is stuck in a timewarp.
What about that shell bath in the bedroom? Hideous!0 -
Not been updated since it was built by the looks of it.
Love the kitchen. It's in perfect condition. But the shell bath in the bedroom.....:rotfl:
And oh so expensive.

Barbie would be right at home with that pink bathroom:D
As to the black suite - hides skidmarks:rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Though, in fairness, people don't have to "update" their houses per se if it's them personally that is continuing to live in them.
"Updating" is something that some of us (like me for instance:)) look to do the instant we buy an older house - but that's because it doesn't function the best way possible (yep...I'm very "time and motion conscious"/want things logical) and/or isn't well-maintained or isn't as modern as we are used to houses normally being (and we want to feel "at home" and, to us, that means = modern and not looking "poor").0 -

Oh yes I agree, but we have now lived in our current house 34 years and we have had several rounds of 'updating' kitchen and bathrooms. Numerous bouts of decorating and many other jobs done which could be considered updating or moving with the times.
Times do change and many (most?) people do like to update fittings to suit those changes. How many of us would retain an avocado suite because it was still functional? Some would of course but many more would not.0 -

What about the other 2 bathrooms? Why are they arranged like that?0 -

I think it's partially a generational thing, my dad would never consider replacing anything purely because it's now unfashionable or dated, I'm sure the same is true of a lot of over 70s.0 -
Not just the over 70's:rotfl:.
If something needs replacing anyway - then I'll check out as to whether to "update" in the course of replacing - but that does mean "needs" and not "wants" to me.
If I'd kept my last house, for instance, then I had that kitchen done in the 1980's (when I bought it) and it was pure 1980's style. It did need replacing anyway (over 20 years later) and I'd have therefore done the replacement in 21st century style (since I had to do it anyway). But wouldn't have changed it just because it was 1980's style - the change would have been because it was pretty much falling apart by then after years of use.0 -
We sure as heck changed our bathroom - all-over brown 70s tiles!0
