I get the feeling this may not have started life as a domestic residence o r its been something else at some point - there is an odd feel to it in terms of lay out and an almost office type feel to it.0 -
I like the overall style and taste, but too much matte black and dark grey woodwork for me, makes the whole place feel rather gloomy and oppressive.0

That's exactly it - my immediate reaction to the 2nd photo was that it looked liked one of the old railway waiting rooms, although its position made that seem unlikely.
Went to have a Google and it has had quite a chequered history - bit of an article about the woman I presume is selling it (article even mentions a cat)
