Grim. It's put the Grim into 'It's Grim Up North'
It's making the one in Luton look attractive, and that takes something.
Nah! This one is lesser of two evils of the two of them - one could feel "at home" (well - inside the place anyway:cool:) and good views/not too much noise pollution (the A680 nearby and people might use the road as a cut-through but, hopefully, shouldnt be too bad) and no having to "knock the place around" to fit...I thought my (still currently "concrete garden" would cost a lot to normalise). That garden would cost a heck of a lot - rip up all flooring/paint and hide concrete walls/put up tall fast-growing trees all round the edge (errrmm...not leylandii - but hundreds each for pretty full-grown trees to go around the borders).0 -

There's a PDF link to the details : TheBarn,TomlowRd,Stockton.pdf
At present it's just a barn with PP for conversion. It'll be under a planning rule called Section Q, which allows for the conversion of redundant farm buildings to residential units, provided certain conditions are met.
One of those is that it mustn't exceed the height and length/width it is as a barn, so the resulting building tends to look like... err....a barn!
We have one like this. It could be be a nice project, but I'm hoping the rules will be relaxed. I can see the point of not increasing physical bulk, but the insistence on using so much of the original structure/materials is very limiting.:(0 -

The same room has what appears to be a model of Manhattan on the floor, very odd.0 -

Anyone work out what they are doing in the garden?
Why are they cutting the grass with a strimmer?
I must say I do like what they've done with the conservatory, I love the 'outside in' vibe."Meow meow meow? Meow meow-meow meow!" - Minkybob0 -

They're putting up a new fence to section off half the garden and the extension, probably so they can demolish that, build something there and flog that too . That's why the agent has called it terraced, rather than semi-dee.
They're using a brushcutter because the grass is too long to cut with a standard mower.0
