I don't blame the owner, they can't help having more money than sense.
I blame the designer, I wonder how much they charged to design this monstrosity?
I would like a job that pays the money I guess they charged.
I wonder if they use this as part of their CV?If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -

I'd rather have something much cheaper - and more carefully sited not to be overlooked.
There must've been something there before, as it's well outside any conceivable development boundary.
Street View only goes back to 2008, and they werre there then. I can't be faffed to look at earlier stuff like old maps.
Damn good chippy a mile down the road in Usk.0 -

Just an 'out of the box' thought....
With some commercial country property, there's a special planning condition of some kind.
Now if that property is marketed unsuccessfully for 2 years, it's possible the owners could apply to have the restriction lifted, as they can then 'prove' it's hampering the sale.
I've been there with two properties where the vendor really had no intention of selling. With one, where we tried to do a drive-by first, the owner confronted us, denied it was for sale and made accusations that we were casing it for a burglary. :rotfl:0 -

Now that's my new fact learnt for today then. I didnt know that - but my cynical mind is perfectly prepared to believe it.
Now I just need an explanation as to why there are several perfectly ordinary houses (non-commercial) near me that have been up for sale for literally years. Ah yes...probably that attempting to sell a house for a similar price to what it would fetch in the West Country for instance - and it's in poor condition imo. You'd think daylight would have dawned by now on the vendors...to effect of people will take on the Dud Houses IF they are sold at Dud House Price.0 -
In your part of the world it's not unknown for houses to stay on the market 5 years with no kind of subterfuge going on. We offered on a property at the top of our budget, dangerously overreaching ourselves, but the vendor wouldn't contemplate a 10% reduction and we really couldn't go further.
That property sat for another few years, and in the end the vendor just stayed there.
There were also a couple of properties with elderly owners, whose families were pressing them to downsize, but you could tell their heart wasn't in it. Daft pricing suited them fine!
Trying to market unrealistically to get conditions lifted isn't so successful nowadays. Prices and access to the marketing info are much better. Property up the road from me tried and got nowhere with the council.
I think this one is suspiciously overpriced....outdated concrete panel bungalow....no outbuildings £425k ....in their dreams!

Ooh - Woolaway! Oh dear....
I can sympathise with anyone that bought a Woolaway bungalow - in ignorance of what that construction meant.
I viewed a lovely place over here - and then found out it was Woolaway - and the price was going down and down and down....
Unsurprisingly - I didnt buy it.0 -
Is it just me that finds it really cold and unwelcoming? it may be a lot of house for the money but I wouldn't even consider it, head a few miles over towards Brecon way and you'd have a stunning house and a lot of land with change left over for that price.
No, not just you. I think it's hideous. Cold and characterless. Sorry Bonfire.......
We're currently house hunting in Wales and are looking for something with character and integrity.Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
