Looks like it was a pub and they've not idea what to do with the pub part, so they've just left a giant empty space.

yes it was a pub

there is room to put another house in the car park. I assume that is reflected in the price, though there is no pp yet. (I know the area & I really can't see any reason why they wouldn't allow some sort of residential development)

Yes, but then I got distracted by the dog in pic 2 and spent time blowing it up to decide if it was a plastic one.....:o

I think it's ornamental rather than obedient. Shame it's not a Scottie, though!
