Could it be location on a busy A road?“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

It's set back off the main road though, no direct traffic in front of the house as it's a small private lane.
I'm sure there's something daft we're missing.0 -

it does look like two houses knocked into one.0 -
When I saw this one I thought, "Hmmmm....I'd have huge tower thingy envy regarding next door's tower thingy."
But then, when I looked at the aerial photo, I saw next door can actually sit on top of their tower thingy and lord it over all around. There would be no hiding place in that garden!
And next.... as I zoomed the aerial shot, I travelled through time to see that the playing fields behind had mysteriously lost their markings, while the local Academy had simultaneously been rebuilt....
And finally, I thought, "Sell-off of playing fields for housing to pay for new Academy."
Maybe I just have a suspicious mind.

It's a very nice property though
I know a lot of people say they feel being overlooked is an issue but, when you think about it, the majority of properties in the UK must surely be overlooked be it from a toweror simply the upstairs rooms of their neighbour.
Unless your hobby is naked yoga not sure why it's a problem really. One of my neighbours has a roof terrace and I am pretty sure they are up there for the view rather than my weeding activities.
As for the possible development behind. It's a good size garden and if houses were already there I doubt you would rule the house out.
Bit tedious while building is going on I suppose but if that is reflected in the price perhaps a bargain to be had whilst you sit it out.0 -

5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and a toilet downstairs too? What is the obsession with en-suites these days? Does anyone really need 4 showers and 5 toilets? They must have a cleaner!! :huh:0
