Such a sad looking property...with a japanese knotweed infestation...the kindest thing that could be done here is to bulldoze it...

It's Grade II listed so no chance of bulldozing.
Glad to see the listing status ensured it stayed in a decent state of repair.... :mad:Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

The listing is probably a huge disincentive for many who'd otherwise consider taking it on.
Having witnessed the insanity of some conservation officer decisions at first hand, I can't say I'd be rushing in there, even if I had the sort of money required.
Anyway someone's sat on it for 14 years, and you're right, the council should have stepped-in long ago.0 -

Exactly, I agree.
I'd not want a listed building due to the restrictions.
There is a lovely listed house in our village. Well it was lovely 20 years ago. Owner went into a care home but refused to sell it and it ended up in a state of disrepair. She has since died and a developer bought it - huge garden ripe for building on and a couple of barns ideal to convert.
Yet the developer has let the listed house get even worse. Now a huge hole in the roof so I dread to think the damage it has caused inside and structurally. I'm pretty sure he has deliberately let it get like this so he can argue it isn't viable to renovate and can apply to have it demolished.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Of course not "blood covered" but it does look like a table cloth - with printed or embroidered poppies (or similar flower).
Why they want to display the beds in that way heaven knows.0
